HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-10-09 - Draft MINUTES OF THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA, MICHIGAN A meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia, Michigan, was held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the Livonia City Hall, 33000 Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan at 10:02 a.m., at which time and place the following members of said Commission were present: Present: Carter Fisher, City Attorney Lori L. Miller, City Clerk Maureen Miller Brosnan, Mayor Also Present: Doris E. DeMarco, Deputy Clerk Allan Dix, Resident Lori Miller assumed the duties as Chairperson of the Election Commission. Upon a motion by Commissioner Brosnan, supported by Commissioner Fisher, and unanimously adopted, it was: RESOLVED that the minutes of the Election Commission meeting held on July 11, 2024, are hereby approved. Upon a motion by Commissioner Fisher, supported by Commissioner Brosnan, and unanimously adopted, it was: RESOLVED that the Election Inspectors, Counting Boards, Early Voting Inspectors, and Chairpersons listed on the scheduled list hereto, and made part of these minutes, are duly appointed to the Election Board for the Presidential Election to be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Upon a motion by Commissioner Fisher, supported by Commissioner Brosnan, and unanimously adopted, it was: RESOLVED that if any of the Election Inspectors on the official, approved list for this election cannot complete their assignment because of unforeseen circumstances, they will be replaced by alternate fully trained, Election Inspectors from the list of workers that is contained on the master list. Upon a motion by Commissioner Brosnan, supported by Commissioner Fisher, and unanimously adopted, it was: Minutes of the Election Commission Page 2 RESOLVED that the compensation for Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for election workers shall be: $250.00 per day plus mileage for each Roving Chairperson, $235.00 per day for each Chairperson, $210.00 per day for each Co-Chairperson, $170.00 per day for each Inspector, $85.00 per day for each half-day Inspector, $325.00 per day for each Counting Board Chairperson, $275.00 per day for each Counting Board Co-Chairperson, $225.00 per day for each Counting Board Inspector, $225.00 per day for each Adjudicator, $175.00 per day for each Early Voting Chairperson, $160.00 per day for each Early Voting Inspector, and $80.00 per day for each half-day Early Voting Inspector. Upon a motion by Commissioner Brosnan, supported by Commissioner Fisher, and unanimously adopted, it was: RESOLVED that the City Clerk and the City Clerk’s staff shall prepare all election precinct supplies and certified ballot containers for use in the Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Presidential Election. Upon a motion by Commissioner Brosnan, supported by Commissioner Fisher, and unanimously adopted, it was: RESOLVED that the City Clerk and the City Clerk’s office staff will perform the preliminary logic and accuracy testing on all ImageCast Tabulators and Voter Assisted Terminals (VAT) ballot marking devices prior to the Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Presidential Election. During Audience Communication Allan Dix spoke about his concerns with the Election Commission. Upon a motion by Commissioner Fisher, supported by Commissioner Brosnan, and unanimously adopted, this meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia was adjourned at 10:31 a.m. on October 9, 2024.
