Roll Call: Present – Nancy Stramecki, Gay Ware, Michelle Moccia, Theresa Goodrich Guest – Karl Peters Old Business: A. Minutes from the November 12, 2024 meeting discussed. Individual roll call went as follows: Michelle Moccia, Yes; Nancy Stramecki, Yes. Motion passed unanimously. B. Treasurer’s Report discussed. Individual roll call went as follows: Michelle Moccia, Yes; Gay Ware, Yes. Motion passed unanimously. 1. Non-Resident Fee Report distributed – YTD total is $106.50 New Business: A. Report on new Senior Wellness Center 1. Furniture selection in process, Commission hopes padded, 4-hour chairs will be considered for some activity areas and considerations will be made for sturdy and safe chairs for exercise activity rooms. 2. Discussion ensued on how to collect anecdotal success stories of the senior center has had a positive effect on the community and those who have visited over the years. Include stories such as Josie S. whose life has changed dramatically. In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act as it pertains to access to Public Meetings, the Executive Director of the Livonia Commission on Aging, upon adequate notice, will make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities. Please call Karl Peters, Senior Center Program Supervisor at (734) 466-2555 should you required assistance. B. Request for $2,000 for St. Patrick’s Day Party – to be held on March 14, 2025 – to come out of account #101-820-886-913. 1. Request for $1,500 for Thanksgiving Gathering – to be held on November 21, 2025 – to come out of account #101-820-886-913. 1. Individual roll call went as follows: Gay Ware, Yes; Nancy Stramecki, Yes; Michelle Moccia, Yes; Theresa Goodrich, Yes. Motion passed unanimously. Other Business: A. Discussion of Memory Café Feasibility 1. Follow up on previous discussion on the feasibility of a Memory Café event.
