HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-01-06 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD January 6, 2025 The Regular Meeting of the Water and Sewer Board of the City of Livonia, Michigan, held on Monday, January 6, 2025 was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Brett Gierak. Approval of Minutes dated December 2, 2024 Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6731 12/24 RESOLVED, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 7, 2018 are hereby approved. Letter dated December 20, 2024 from Superintendent of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Mohit Dhawan Punjab Indian Cuisine, 36071 Plymouth Motioned by Valerie Jackson, seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6735 01/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Dhawan the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 6, 2025 a Nine (9) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD January 6, 2025 Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2025 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 3. Letter dated December 16, 2024 from Superintendent of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Sharon Mathe 14147 Deering Motioned by Greg Jones, seconded by Rich Skaggs #WS 6736 01/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Mathe the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 6, 2025 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. At the request of the petitioner, the account at 14147 Deering will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the Twelve (12) month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. Letter dated December 18, 2024 from Superintendent of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Dale Mary Orsucci, 36509 Kingsbury REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD January 6, 2025 Motioned by Valerie Jackson, seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6737 01/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mrs Orsucci the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 6, 2025 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated December 16, 2024 from Superintendent of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Sherri Crump, 28840 Westfield Motioned by Candy Little, seconded by Rich Skaggs #WS 6738 01/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Crump the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 6, 2025 a Twenty-four (24) month extension, paying a minimum of $117.00 per month, at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. At the request of the petitioner, the account at 28840 Westfield will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the Twenty-four (24) month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. Letter dated January 2, 2025 from David Lear, Assistant City Engineer requesting a billing adjustment for the property located at 15619 Farmington Road. During construction of the water main along Farmington Road, the sprinkler lines to this parcel were damaged. The owner of the property contacted the Engineering Department regarding a larger than normal water bill due to the damaged lines. It was motioned by Rich Skaggs, seconded by Valerie Jackson REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD January 6, 2025 #WS 6753 01/25 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board approves the removal of $138.40 from the water account at 15619 Farmington Road. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. The next meeting of the Water and Sewer Board is scheduled for Monday, February 3, 2025 at 5:00pm. Upon a motion by Greg Jones, seconded by Valerie Jackson, the meeting was adjourned at 5:50 pm.
