Old Business:
A. Minutes from the February 11, 2025, meeting discussed. Motion made by Nancy Stramecki and seconded
by Theresa Killingbeck. Individual roll call went as follows: Tim DeWitt, Yes; Nancy Stramecki, Yes;
Denise Brothers, Yes; Theresa Killingbeck, Yes. Motion passed unanimously.
B. Treasurer’s Report Discussed. Motion made by Theresa Killingbeck and seconded by Gay Ware.
Individual roll call went as follows: Tim DeWitt, Yes; Nancy Stramecki, Yes; Denise Brothers, Yes;
Theresa Killingbeck, Yes. Motion passed unanimously.
C. Non-Resident Fee Report Non-Resident Fee Report distributed – YTD total is $396
D. New Senior Wellness Center – Update
Senior Center is hoping for additional staffing in the next fiscal year to anticipate
additional programming and participants visiting he new Senior Wellness Center.
Meals on Wheels will have a dedicated entrance, exit and parking to service the hundreds of
participants both in home and through meals at the Senior Wellness Center.
The Aging Commission requested a presentation at the current Senior Center prior to the
deadline to request an absentee ballot for the August vote to discuss the milage proposal in detail
with the senior population.
Opening date for the Senior Wellness Center is anticipated to be September/October 2025.
New Business:
A. Welcome New Commissioners: Denise Brothers and Tim DeWitt!
In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act as it pertains to access to Public Meetings, the Executive Director of
the Livonia Commission on Aging, upon adequate notice, will make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities. Please
call Karl Peters, Senior Center Program Supervisor at (734) 466-2555 should you required assistance.
B. Discussion on minimum age guidelines for the new Senior Wellness Center. The current Senior Center
does not currently have a minimum age to allow residents to bring friends with them to activities.
Recommended age is typically 55 and over. Certain programming may have funding- based age
requirements such as Wayne County Meals on Wheels, whose requirements are 60.
C. Request for $1,600 for Thanksgiving Party – to be held on November 21, 2025 – to come out of
Account #101-820-886-913. Motion made by Denise Brothers and seconded by Theresa
Killingbeck. Individual roll call went as follows: Tim DeWitt, Yes; Nancy Stramecki, Yes; Denise
Brothers, Yes; Theresa Killingbeck, Yes. Motion passed unanimously.
D. Holiday/Christmas Party – To be held on December 19, 2025.
E. Request for $200 for Veteran’s Day Celebration – To be held on November 7, 2025 – to come out of
Account #101-820-886-913. Motion made by Theresa Killingbeck and seconded by Gay Ware.
Individual roll call went as follows: Tim DeWitt, Yes; Nancy Stramecki, Yes; Denise Brothers, Yes;
Theresa Killingbeck, Yes. Motion passed unanimously.
