Minutes from September 9, 2025 meeting read. Motion to approve made by Tim Dewitt, seconded by Nancy Stramecki. Motion carried. B. Treasurer’s Report: Halloween party and Thanksgiving party were funded. Remaining funds will be used for Veteran’s Day event on November 14, 2025. Motion made by Michelle Moccia, seconded by Tim Dewitt. All approved C. Non-Resident Fee Report: (No Report until February 2026) New Business: A. Report on New Senior Wellness Center: New center is wonderful and is set to open on November 17. Ribbon cutting ceremony will be on November 13. B. Set 2026 Commission Meeting Schedule: February 10, May 12, September 8, November 10 @ 5:30PM. Meetings will be held at new Senior Wellness Center in the Bentley Room. C. Election of Officers: Motion made by Tim Dewitt to nominate the following slate of candidates: President: Gay Ware, Vice President: Michelle Moccia, Secretary: Theresa Killingbeck, Treasurer: Nancy Stramecki 1. Roll call vote: Tim Dewitt – Yes, Michelle Moccia – Yes, Gay Ware – Yes, Nancy Stramecki – Yes, Theresa Killingbeck – Yes. Motion passed. Other Business: A. Tim Dewitt inquired about details on the Trust fund and approvals. Motion made by Tim Dewitt that Commission on Aging should receive documentation on what was purchased through the trust in support of the New Senior Wellness Center and an ongoing report be included regularly with the Treasurer’s report. Motion seconded by Gay Ware. Motion passed unanimously. In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act as it pertains to access to Public Meetings, the Executive Director of the Livonia Commission on Aging, upon adequate notice, will make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities. Michelle Moccia inquired about the feasibility of restarting the Memory Café at the new Senior Wellness Center. A discussion ensued on restarting this opportunity and a recommendation was made by the Commission to put the memory café in place. Karl Peters will move forward with looking into this initiative in 2026. Next Meeting*: FEBRUARY 10, 2026 at 5:30pm at the new Senior Wellness Center in the Bentley Room.
