HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-08-14 LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION James Policelli, Chairman Maureen Miller Brosnan Robb Drzewicki MAYOR John Katers Carl Roberts Gordon St. John Tom Wrenbeck 33000 CIVIC CENTER DRIVE LIVONIA, MICHIGAN 48154-3097 August 14, 2026 TO: TRAFFIC COMMISSIONERS FROM: JIM POLICELLI, Chairperson th The following items are on the Agenda of the Traffic Commission meeting, to be held in the 5 Floor Gallery of City Hall at 7:30 pm.  Meeting Called to Order  Welcome Visitors and Guests  Chairman’s Opening Comments  Structure and Rules of Meeting  Approval of July 9, 2026 Meeting Minutes AGENDA – NEW (Emails Received at City Offices) - Information only for September’s Traffic Meeting:  Email received from Anthony Reffi expressing concerns with vehicle traffic, speeding, failure to stop, etc. in his neighborhood (Ladywood between Williams and Levan Roads, section 17). He may attend future meetings with other residents. Update: Study completed in early June; Anthony and Sgt. Adams agreed to complete a follow-up traffic study after school begins in September. Both studies will be evaluated at the September 10 meeting. - Current Items:  Email received from Shannon Alaouieh, requesting ‘special needs’ signs on her street, alerting drivers of autistic child in the area (14140 Ingram Street, Section 22, copy attached).  Email received from Tanya Lupher, expressing concerns with traffic signal at Lyndon and Middlebelt Roads and in general speeding traffic on Lyndon from Middlebelt to Inkster Roads (Section 22 & 23; copy attached).  Review traffic calming policy FOLLOW UP FROM PREVIOUS MEETING:  Update on pavement marking on Levan Road at Hoover School; project remains open until stanchions are installed (Section 17).  Review (final?) and open discussion traffic calming guidelines.  Email received March 30 from Jeff Novak expressing concerns with speeding traffic, vehicles, dirt bikes, etc., throughout his Angling/Long neighborhood (Section 1; copy attached). Sgt Adams immediately responded.  Future plans and projects (roll out updates MMUTCD).
