The meeting was called to order on February 18, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Alexander Blue House.
Present: Ken Bourgon, Deanna Brown, Mary Cambridge, Sue Daniel, Nancy Frye, Barbara Mansfield,
Gary Pritchard, Sandi Pritchard and Linda Trewin.
Also present: Linda Wiacek
The minutes of the November 19, 2014 were approved as written.
Mary Cambridge presented the November and December, 2014 and January, 2015 Treasurer’s reports,
which were placed on file.
Linda Wiacek’s Report: The roof on the Meeting House and Shaw House will be replaced this year; the
work to be done by Buckmaster Contracting Co., Inc. The Hill House needs to have the Christmas
decorations taken down; the Sand Hill Questers did that job at the Geer Store. The Presidential
Luncheon will take place on February 21, 2015 with, Anna Lopez as Dolley Madison. Motor Cities
Meeting is on February 19, 2015. We will have three or four school groups using the Newburg School
this year. We are now using electronic letterhead for minutes, etc. The Volunteer Surveys and June Flea
Market applications will go out soon. Three Boy Scouts will be working on their Eagle Scout projects; we
will be meeting with them this month.
Motion: 02-01 It was moved by Linda Trewin and seconded by Mary Cambridge to replace the roof on
the Shaw House and the Meeting House. Funds to come from the Trust Account #723-000-931-000.
Motion carried.
Motion: 02-02 It was moved by Sandi Pritchard and seconded by Mary Cambridge to allocate up to
$40,000.00 for the restoration of the Greenhouse. Funds to come from the Trust Account
#723-000-976-000. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-03 It was moved by Linda Trewin and seconded by Deanna Brown to repair and/or replace
the Meeting House bathroom floor. Funds to come from Account #101-893-931-220. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-04 It was moved by Nancy Frye and seconded by Ken Bourgon to allocate up to $300.00 for
curtains for the Hill House. Funds to come from Trust Account #723-000-931-000. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-05 It was moved by Sandi Pritchard and seconded by Linda Trewin to repair the Hill House
parking area. Funds to come from the Trust Account #723-000-971-000. Motion approved.
Motion: 02-06 It was moved by Mary Cambridge and seconded by Ken Bourgon that up to $180.00 be
allocated for Linda Trewin to attend a Safe-Serve Class at Schoolcraft College. Funds to come from
Account #101-893-886-737. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-07 It was moved by Barbara Mansfield and seconded by Linda Trewin that $115.00 be used
to renew membership to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Funds to come from Account
#101-893-886-737. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-08 It was moved by Sandi Pritchard and seconded by Deanna Brown that a request be
submitted to the Livonia City Council that an architect be hired to coordinate the Nankin Mill School
project. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-09 It was moved by Ken Bourgon and seconded by Mary Cambridge that a request be
submitted to the Livonia City Council that a mover be hired to bring the Nankin Mill School to
Greenmead. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-10 It was moved by Sandi Pritchard and seconded by Deanna Brown that the location at
Greenmead for the Nankin Mill School be determined at a future meeting. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-11 It was moved by Linda Trewin and seconded by Ken Bourgon that the following
buildings, in the following order, be painted in 2015:
Parsonage
Caretakers’ Cottage (north side)
Farm Equipment Shed
South Barn
Motion carried.
Motion: 02-12 It was moved by Sandi Pritchard and seconded by Mary Cambridge that up to $1,000.00
be spent for the purchase of acid-free boxes. Funds to come from Trust Account #723-000-766-000.
Motion carried.
Motion: 02-13 It was moved by Linda Trewin and seconded by Ken Bourgon that up to $600.00 be
allocated to reupholster a chair in the Bungalow living room. Mary Cambridge will coordinate the
project. Funds to come from Trust Account #723-000-981-000. Motion carried.
Motion: 02-14 It was moved by Barbara Mansfield and seconded by Gary Pritchard that up to $1,000.00
be allocated to repair and reupholster an ottoman and two rocking chairs in the Shaw House. Mary
Cambridge will coordinate the project. Funds to come from Trust Account #723-000-981-000. Motion
carried.
Motion: 02-15 It was moved by Sandi Pritchard and seconded by Deanna Brown that funds be allocated
for the printing of the “Ann Shaw Diary”. Funds to come from Trust Account #723-000-818-000. Motion
carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Alexander Blue House at 6:30 p.m.
