Tuesday, March 24, 2015 6:33 p.m.
Present: Duggan, Eno, Karczewski, Leeper, Pawlak,

Absent: Fakhouri, J Valentine, P. Valentine, Voran
Staff: Swish
Motion 3-24-1 was made by D. Spurling and seconded by Pawlak to approve the
minutes of the meeting held on February 24, 2015. Approved.
Treasurer Report:
Swish — $68 was spent toward dues and misc. supplies.
Motion 3-24-2 was made to approved by C. Spurling and seconded by
D. Spurling to received and filed. Approved.
Gallery/City Hall:
Gallery
Karczewski- Gallery—March 2015, Schoolcraft Community College Student
artists are displaying. April 2015, the Livonia Public Schools will host student
artwork.
City Hall - March 2015, Tricia Howell is displaying Acrylics. April 2015, the
Artifact Art Club will display mixed media.
Fine Arts Exhibition:
Karczewski — is working to revamp the Prospectus allowing it to be downsized.
Will mail out no later than July, 2015
MFTH
Duggan — met with Leeper, Eno and Voran. The bands have been chosen.
Pawlak will work with Duggan to ask for vendor support for the MFTH series by
donating food for the patrons. Duggan suggested having vendors pay to
advertise on the information cards to help defray the cost of the cards.

Scholarships:
C. Spurling —Interviews were held on March 21st and two recipients were
chosen; Ivan Montoya -Vasquez and Amanda Zawisza. A reception will be held
after the presentation of checks at the 8 p.m. City Council study meeting on April
20, 2015.
Motion 3-24-3 by C. Spurling and 2nd by Karczewski for $100 to provide items for
reception. Approved
School Incentives/Grants:
P Valentine — absent no report.
Media: Leeper: C. Spurling will have Jason Claypoole contact Leeper/Fakhouri
to become administrators of Livonia Arts Commission Facebook account. Leeper
has passed out different areas to get our information out. Swish will also forward
the contact information for Michigan Festivals and Events.
Social Media:
Fakhouri -absent no report
Old Business —
LSO - Symphony concert will be on June 18, 2015 for $1,000.00 in conjunction
with the $1,000.00 from the Livonia Spree. It will be held at the Livonia
Recreation Center.
Motion 3-24-4 by C. Spurling and second by Pawlak to give $1,000.00 to the
LSO for the June 18, 2015 concert in conjunction with the Livonia Spree
contribution. Approved.
Art Show — Duggan suggested that the commission push to get an arts show
venue together such as A GARBAGE ART SHOW.

New Business —
Thank you for VAAL Commission received a thank you note from VAAL.
Duggan spoke of the possibility of having a Wine Tasting event on the grounds of
City Hall and/or a Painting with a Twist party.
Motion 3-24-5 by D Spurling seconded by Pawlak and approved to adjourn
meeting at 7:25 p.m.
Next scheduled meeting Monday April 20, 2015 6:30 p.m. in the fourth floor
conference room at the Livonia City Hall.
