Tuesday, January 27, 2015 6:31 p.m.

Motion 1-27-1 was made by P. Valentine and seconded by D. Spurling to
approve the minutes of the meeting held on December 9, 2014. Approved.
Treasurer Report:
Swish — This year's Special Activities Account is set at $16,250. The Trust
account balance is $75,605.

Gallery/City Hall:
Gallery
Karczewski — In January 2015, Fred Keebler and Sandra Spiteri will be
displaying Mixed Media. In February 2015, the Greater Detroit Camera Club will
display photography.
City Hall Lobby
J/P Valentine — In January 2015 the Livonia Stevenson High School Students
hosted by Brook Brewster are displaying their photography. In February 2015
Virginia Bosak, Diana Jamrog, Rosa Paulus, and Loraine Walowich will be
displaying mixed media.

Karczewski — No Report. Tabled until August 2015. C. Spurling suggested that
donation letters for possible sponsors be sent out as soon as possible.
MFTH
Duggan — Application deadline is February 27. A committee will review all
applicants and pick the Artists for the 2015 Music From The Heart series. The
committee will meet in March.

Scholarships:
C. Spurling —Deadline for Applications will be postmarked date of February 13,
2015. No applications have been received yet. The Commission will start to
promote through various Medias to get the word out.
School Incentives/Grants:
P Valentine — Has been speaking with High School Students encouraging them
to apply for the Arts Commission Scholarship. Each High School will be emailed
a blurb created by Swish asking them to announce it every week over their PA
system.
Media
Fakhouri — A press release was sent in December to the newspaper but he has
not received a response yet. The Fine Arts article was published. Swish reported
that the city has purchased new software called GovDelivery, and will work with
Fakhouri to develop an Arts Commission newsletter.
Old Business —
PTSA Reflections Judging was held December 12, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. and was
hosted by Duggan. Duggan thanks all commissioners that participated in the
judging.
DIA will supply their "DIA AWAY" to the Arts Commission. The two trailers will
be promoted and viewed on Friday and Saturday June 27& 28, 2015 on the
Livonia Spree Grounds at Ford Field located at Lyndon and Farmington Road.
Commissioners Evaluation/Questioner - Duggan passed out to all
commissioners an evaluation sheet in order to document what each
commissioner does to help support the commission. This not only included
projects, but also a time frame of support and/or set-up for each project. He also
added a way to document the process of instigating new ideas. Duggan will than
present these ideas to the Mayor.
Art Show — Duggan wants to aggressively work on promoting another arts and
craft show on city hall grounds.
New Business —
VAAL — Submitted a request for a $500 grant. The Commission reviewed and
approved it.
Motion 1-27-2 by D. Spurling and second by Karczewski for a $500.00 Grant to
Visual Arts Association of Livonia. Approved.
Friends of Greenmead — Sent a Thank You note for our donation of $50.00

Motion 1-27-3 by D. Spurling second by Fakhouri to approve the 2015 Budget of
$23,350.00. Approved.
Motion 1-27-4 by C. Spurling seconded by P. Valentine and approved to adjourn
meeting at 7:33 p.m.
Next scheduled meeting Tuesday January 27, 2015 6:30 p.m. in the fourth Floor
Conference Room.
