Balcoff, J Claypoole, G Gostias, J Grzebik, N ldeh, D Spurling Excused/Absence: L. Duggan, J Keller, J Nork Staff: C Swish Meeting was called to Order at 6:05 P.M Approval of November 3, 2014 Minutes A Motion to approve the minutes as written was made by Commissioner Gostias and seconded by Commissioner Ideh. Motion carried Financial Report: A. Passbook Account Balance $ 10,500 00 B Trust Fund Account Balance $ 14,123 39 Announcements and Communications. Commissioner Gostias suggested that the Youth Commission consider assisting in purchasing Instruments for schools The commission will look into the matter in the future. Old Business: A. Holiday Party Event—The Holiday Party Event was a success Thank you notes have or will go to the following Jimmy Johns, Valentino's Pizza, and the Livonia Police Reserves for their contributions to the Holiday Party Spurling will look into a plaque for sponsors. B. Arbor Day- Commissioner Balcoff advised that the trees would be delivered on Tuesday April 21st He is still in the process of choosing this year's tree A meeting date on April 21 at 4 30 p m. has been confirmed with the Livonia Senior Center for the Arbor Day Tree Program distribution to the egrade classes C. Scholarship Brochures—Commission Spurling will handle the distribution of the brochures and update the Livonia Youth Commission/SPREE memorial scholarship D. High School Graduation Certificates—The commission will print certificates for the Honor Students from Clarenceville and Ladywood High Schools. Youth Concert for Arts Commission Sponsorship Motion 15-02-01 A motion was made to sponsor a Children's night concert through the Arts Commission on the Livonia Civic Center grounds in the amount of$500 by Commissioner Claypoole and seconded by Commissioner Gostias. Motion carried B 2015 Budget Motion 15-02-02 A motion was made by Commissioner Grzebik and seconded by Commissioner Claypoole to approve the 2015 operating budget. Motion carried Who Ya Going Call $ 1,000 2015 Spree Scholarships $ 50 Activity Nights $ 500 Arbor Day Project $ 2,000 Senior All Night Parties $ 1,250 High School Certificates $ 350 Family Day Spree $ 300 Back Pack Program $ 1,500 Holiday Celebration $ 4,500 Misc. Expenses $ 150 Total $11,275 C Senior All Night Parties— Motion 15-02-03 A motion was made to require that all Senior All Night Party donations be given only to schools that submit a letter on school letter head stating they are holding the party on school grounds. Motion carried Adjournment:A motion to adjourn at 7 15 P M was made by Commissioner Claypoole and seconded by Commissioner Grzebik.
