HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1992-08-11 SPECIAL 27142 MINUTES OF THE TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-FOURTH SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter 14 of the City Charter, the above meeting was held August 11, 1992 at the City Hall, 33000 Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan and was called to order by the President of the Council at approximately 6 46 p.m. Roll was called with the following result: Present: Michael P. McGee, Dale A. Jurcisin*, Fernon P Feenstra, Sean P. Kavanagh, and Laura M. Toy. Absent: Gerald Taylor and Ron Ochala. *Arrived at approximately 6:49 p.m. Elected and appointed officials present: Robert D. Bennett, Mayor; Harry Tatigian, City Attorney; Edith Davis; Personnel Director; and Ann W. Tavolacci, Deputy City Clerk. No one spoke during the audience communication portion. iOtnw:sm:otion by Feenstra, seconded by McGee, and unanimously adopted, #616-92 RESOLVED, that having considered a Supplemental Consent Decree in a civil action previously commenced in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division, entitled United States of America v City of Livonia, Michigan, No. 87-CV-70428-DT, which Supplemental Consent Decree is intended to supersede the Consent Decree entered in this action on February 11, 1987, and relates particularly to selection criteria for entry level positions and which Supplemental Consent Decree shall remain in effect until February 11, 1995, the Council does hereby approve and authorize the entry of the aforesaid Supplemental Consent Decree in the United States District Court; and the Mayor and City Attorney are hereby authorized, for and on behalf of the City of Livonia, to execute the said Supplemental Consent Decree as well as to do all things necessary or incidental to the full performance of this resolution. No one spoke during the audience communication portion.
