Gostias, J Grzebik, J Keller, N ldeh, D. Spurling Excused/Absence- J Nork Staff: C Swish Meeting was called to Order at 5.40 P.M. Approval of February 3, 2015 Minutes: A Motion to approve the minutes as written was made by Commissioner Grzebik and seconded by Commissioner ldeh Motion carried. Financial Report. A Passbook Account Balance $ 9,897 60 B Trust Fund Account Balance $ 15,123 39 Trust increased by $1,000 with receipt of check from Livonia Anniversary Committee Announcements and Communications: Chairperson Spurling informed the commission that Commissioner Nork was involved in a Traffic Accident He is recovering at home Old Business- A. Arbor Day- Commissioner Balcoff delivered the trees today The commission met early to prepare the trees for delivery to all 4th classes in Livonia The tree chosen for this year's distribution is the White Fir B. Senior All Night Parties—The high schools that have submitted a request for a donation to their Senior All Night Party are Clarenceville High School and Ladywood High School C. High School Graduation Certificates — Commissioner Spurling has all the information to print the certificates. Commissioner Grzebik will deliver them to the appropriate High Schools D. No Further Old Business Livonia Youth Commission Meeting Minutes April 21, 2015 Page 2 New Business: A Youth Commission /SPREE Memorial Scholarships - Nine applications were received It was discussed that perhaps a minor grace period be granted so that others may have time to submit However, the commission stated that the applications were available well in advance and that a deadline is a deadline. The Scholarships will be presented at the Spree Pancake Breakfast on June 29th B Backpack Program — The date is set for August 20th at the Old Court House This will be reconfirmed with Bill Heaton from the Livonia Goodfellows It was discussed about sponsors and donations from large retailers In the past, Kohl's had provided employees to assist with the distribution of backpack/supplies C. No Further New Business Adjournment. A motion to adjourn at 6 40 P M was made by Commissioner Duggan and seconded by Commissioner Claypoole Motion carried Next Meeting is scheduled on Thursday, August 20th at 4.00 P.M. at the Old Court House.
