Ralph Bakewell, Kathy Bilger, Sue Daniel, Kathie Glynn, Don Knapp and James Kline Absent Kathy Johnson-Bartshe Also present. Linda Wiacek, Doug Moore (City of Livonia D P W), Matt Kilroy, Tim Kilroy, Collin Parker, Jared Parker, Jay Parker, Gary Zmuda, Rebecca Zmuda and Chris Hromeh. Kathy Bilger, Vice-Chairperson,will chair the meeting in Kathy Johnson-Bartshe's absence New Business. Matt Kilroy came to discuss a project for his Eagle Scout badge He plans to scrape and paint the iron fence at the Clarenceville Cemetery, which is along Eight Mile Road He plans on having seven or eight scouts, as well as several parents, to help him do this project. Doug Moore said that in addition to providing the paint (Rustoleum), he will be supervising the work, which will be done on June 15-17, 2015 Collin Parker is in the early stages of planning a project for his Eagle Scout badge. He proposes to do a reading of the headstones at the Livonia Center Cemetery He will submit the reading in Excel format Kathy Bilger asked if Collin could also take a photograph of each headstone Collin will present his proposal to the Scout Council for their approval He will then return to confirm or change his project Jared Parker plans to paint and repair the trellis walkway in the garden at Hill House for his Eagle Scout project He also needs the approval of the Scout Council and will return to confirm the project The Livonia Historic Preservation Commission thanked all the scouts for their efforts toward preserving Livonia's historic resources. Old Business, Gary and Rebecca Zmuda, of 34235 W Seven Mile Road, reported that their original contractor withdrew and Chris Hromeh, of Midwest Construction, is replacing him. Their loan is almost finalized and the underwriter is requesting a letter from the LHPC stating that the roof shingles, siding materials and window materials have been approved and the dates the approvals were given It was moved by Don Knapp and seconded by Ralph Bakewell that the letter to the underwriter be reviewed by the City's legal department. Sue Daniel and Don Knapp supported the motion, Ralph Bakewell, James Kline and Kathie Glynn did not. The letter requested by the underwriter was composed. It was moved by James Kline and seconded by Kathie Glynn to approve the letter Ralph Bakewell, Sue Darnel, Kathie Glynn and James Kline approved, Don Knapp disapproved The letter was then signed (A copy is attached). The Zmudas also requested approval of their choice of exterior paint color Pittsburg Paint"Soft Suede" A discussion was held. The color is a little dark for the exterior of a Greek Revival period home, but much lighter than the color that is currently on the house. The homeowners are also concerned about painting the house too light a color because it is so close to Seven Mile Road and will constantly be splashed with dirt from the road It was moved by Kathie Glynn and seconded by James Kline to approve Pittsburg Paint PPG 1103-3 "Soft Suede" for the body of the house, and Sherwin Williams SW0050 "Classic Light Buff' for the trim Motion carried. The style of the door and its color will be discussed at a later date The minutes of the February 4, 2015 meeting were approved as written Correspondence reviewed The 2015 Cemetery Walk Committee met on May 4th The list of the people to be portrayed for the Walk is almost finalized. Kathy Johnson-Bartshe met with Dave Carter, of Carter's Cemetery Preservation, Inc., to determine which headstones need to be repaired Livonia Center Cemetery Arch Repair Linda Wiacek has spoken with a repair person The work should start soon The price estimate is $1,475 00 Kathy Bilger reported that the Livonia Little Tots building on 15115 Faimington Road is unoccupied at the present time. The implications were discussed Treasurer, James Kline, presented a format he is devising for tracking LHPC expenditures, a discussion was held. The Motor Cities Stewardship Council met at Mill Race Village in Northville on April 30th. Greenmead had six people there and a brief synopsis of the meeting was given. Greenmead Linda Wiacek reported that a large section of the fence along Eight Mile Road has been replaced Estimates are being sought for a farm-style gate near the barn. The Friends of Greenmead are funding repairs to the pond near the Greenhouse The Sauk Trail Questers have obtained grants for reupholstering Hill House furnishings; three pieces in Mrs Hill's bedroom The Livonia Historical Commission is reupholstering two rockers at the Shaw House and a chair at the Bungalow. Nankin Mill School.
