Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, June 15, 2015 6:30 p.m.

Motion 6-15-1
was made by P Valentine and seconded by Karczewski to approve the minutes of the
meeting held on May 25, 2015. Approved.
Treasurer Report:
Swish
– The Commission has spent $1,800 for Noontime Concerts. Copy of report emailed to
Commissioners.

was made toby D Spurling and seconded by Eno to receive and file. Approved.
Gallery/City Hall:
Karczewski- Gallery
–June is hosting Visual Arts Association of Livonia (VAAL), and July will host the
Livonia Artist Club’s final showing. They are disbanding. Karczewski advised that the Gallery is
booked for 2016 and she is now filing 2017.
J/P Valentine- City Hall
- June is hosting Sarah Koch and Dan Marceau who are students of the
Class of 2016 from the College of Creative Studies. July will host Jerry Valentine, Livonia Arts
Commissioner.
Fine Arts Exhibition:
Karczewski
–NWC will print postcards and format the Prospectus into a PDF format for artist to
download from the City website. D Spurling and Karczewski will go NWC to present postcard
designed by C Spurling. Swish will send artist’s mailing list to NWC. This new approach will save
money in postage and printing.

Postcards have been printed and are being distributed. First Concert will be on July 9 on
the steps of Livonia City Hall.
Scholarships:
C. Spurling
– No report. C. Spurling suggested we table scholarships until September.
School Incentives/Grants:
P Valentine
– No report. Will table until September
Media/ Social Media:
Leeper:
Absent no report
Old Business –
Environmental Sculpture
: Eno spoke with Pat O’Dowd (probation department). Eno will write a letter
for confirmation of work to be done to Judge Kavanagh. This work is tentatively scheduled for July.
Eno will contact Jim Doyle, concerned citizen, regarding the plans on cleaning/fixing the sculpture.

LSO –
will be held at the Livonia Rec Center on June 18. Commissioners are encouraged to attend.
Paint N Pour
– no report. Leeper may take over.
Shirts –
have been ordered.

DIA –
Their exhibit will be at the Livonia Spree on Saturday, June 27.
Solicitation Letter
– To be tabled until June’s meeting.
