OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter 14 of the City Charter,
the above meeting was held February 4, 1987 at the City Hall , 33000 Civic Center
Drive, Livonia, Michigan and was called to order by the President of the Council
at approximately 6 05 P.M Roll was called with the following result Present
Robert E McCann, Joan McCotter, Fernon P Feenstra, Robert R Bishop, Gerald Taylor,
Robert D. Bennett and Ron Ochala, Absent None
Elected and appointed officials present Robert F Nash, City Clerk ,
Harry Tatigian, City Attorney and Edith Davis, Personnel Director
On a motion by Councilman Bishop, seconded by Councilwoman McCotter, and
unanimously adopted, it was
#95-87 RESOLVED, that having considered a communication from
the United States Department of Justice, dated February 3, 1987,
with regard to the employment practices of the City of Livonia
and to which is attached a proposed Consent Decree in a civil
action to be commenced in the United States District Court for
the Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division, entitled
United States of America vs City of Livonia, Michigan, which
Consent Decree is proposed for resolution of the employment
practices of the City of Livonia, Michigan, the Council does
hereby approve and authorize the entry of the aforesaid Consent
Judgment in the United States District Court, and the Mayor
and City Attorney are hereby authorized, for and on behalf of
the City of Livonia, to execute the said Consent Decree as well
as to do all things necessary or incidental to the full
performance of this resolution
On a motion by Councilman Feenstra, seconded by Councilman Ochala, and
unanimously adopted, this 201st Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia
was duly adjourned at 6 25 P M , February 4, 1987
