MINUTES OF THE ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY-FIRST SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter 14 of the City Charter,
the above meeting was held August 13, 1984 at the City Hall , 33000 Civic Center
Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the Vice President of the
Council at approximately 9:00 p.m. Roll was called with the following result:
Present: Gerald Taylor, Robert D. Bennett, Peter A. Ventura, Robert E. McCann
and Fernon P. Feenstra. Absent: Robert R. Bishop and Alice Gundersen.
Elected and appointed officials present: Harry C. Tatigian, City
Attorney; Patricia Miencier, Deputy City Clerk; G. E. Siemert, City Engineer,
John Nagy, Planning Director; Jack R. Dodge, Director of Finance; Ron Mardiros,
City Assessor; James M. Inglis, Executive Director of the Housing Commission,
Robert Biga, Executive Assistant to the Mayor; Edith Davis, Personnel Director;
Robert Beckley, Superintendent of Public Service Division; Sue Daniel , President
of the Historical Commission and C. Russell Smith, Planning Commission.
On a Motion by Councilman Ventura, seconded by Councilman McCann, it
was
#645-84 RESOLVED, that having considered a letter from
the LPR Land Company, dated August 10, 1984, wherein it
is requested that the City of Livonia submit an application
for a housing development grant from the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development for the proposed
construction of a nine story, 201-unit apartment building
for the elderly designed along the same guidelines as William
Brashear Tower, the Council does hereby reject and deny
this request in the manner and form herein submitted.
A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result:
AYES: Bennett, Ventura, McCann, Feenstra, Taylor
NAYS: None

By Councilman Bennett, seconded by Councilman Ventura, and unanimously
adopted, this 191st Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia was
duly adjourned at 9:30 p.m. , August 13, 1984.
