Old Court House – Backpack Program
Commissioners Present:

Meeting was called to Order at 4:00 P.M.
Approval of April 21, 2015 Minutes:
A Motion to approve the minutes as written was made by
Commissioner Gostias and seconded by Commissioner Grzebik. Motion carried.
Financial Report:
A
. Passbook Account Balance $ 7,464.66
B
. Trust Fund Account Balance $ 16,663.39
Donations towards the Backpack Program were made by Livonia Kids and
Families, Livonia City Hall Jean Days and the Livonia Goodfellows.
Announcements and Communications:
None
Old Business:
A. Arbor Day-
Commissioner Balcoff absent. No report. Swish advised that the program
cost was $997.
B. Spree Scholarships
. Nine applications were turned in and three recipients were chosen.
Commissioner Gostias volunteered to promote this program in the Livonia and
Clarenceville High Schools next year.
C. Holiday Party –
Commissioner Nork advised that the Santa’s are reserved for both
weekends. A face painter’s availability will be confirmed by Chairperson Spurling. A

budget of $4,500 was approved for both Saturdays, November 14 and November 21.

New Business:
A.
A discussion was held to team up the Livonia Parks and Rec Dept. to sponsor or co-
sponsor events for junior high school children.
B.
No further New Business.
Adjournment:
A motion to adjourn at 4:30 P.M. was made by Commissioner Claypoole and
seconded by Commissioner Grzebik. Motion carried. The commission passed out backpacks
and supplies until 7 p.m.
Next Meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, October 6th at 6:30 P.M.
