HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1977-07-01 SPECIAL 16484 MINUTES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-EIGHTH SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter IV of the City Charter, the above meeting was held July 1, 1977, at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the Chairman at approximately 5.40 P. M. . Roll Was called with the following result: Robert F Nash, Jerry H Brown, Robert R. Bishop and Jerry Raymond. Absent--Robert E. McCann, Peter A. Ventura and Robert D. Bennett. Elected and appointed officials present. Harry C. Tatigian, City Attorney, Frances S. Stem, Acting Deputy City Clerk Ronald Mardiros, City Assessor, .James L. Miller, Personnel Director James H Barton, Civil Service Department; and George T. Roumell, Jr. , Attorney. By Councilman Nash, seconded by Councilman Raymond, it was #654-77 RESOLVED, that having considered a communication from the Personnel Director, dated July 1, 1977, which bears the signature of the Finance Director and is approved for submission by the Mayor, and which transmits a resolution adopted by the Civil Service Commission on June 30, 1977 wherein it is recommended that the City enter into a proposed Letter of Understanding with Union Local 192, AFSCME, Council 23 AFL-CIO with regard to certain wage rates which are to be "Red Circled", a copy of which Letter of Understanding is attached to the aforesaid communication and which shall be applicable for the period of December 1, 1976 to November 30, 1979, the Council does hereby deter- mine to concur in and approve of such action, and for this purpose authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said agreement authorizing the said "Letter of Understanding" in the manner and form submitted herein. A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result- AYES. Nash, Brown, Bishop and Raymond. NAYS: None. By Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Bishop, it was #"55-77 RESOLVED, that having considered a communication from the Personnel Director, dated July 1, 1977, which bears the signature of the Finance Director and is approved for submission by the Mayor, and 16485 which transmits a resolution adopted by the Civil Service Commission on June 30, 1977, wherein it is recommended that the position of Food Service Supervisor and one position of Program Supervisor in the Com- munity Resources Department, both of which positions are Temporary in status, be afforded benefits similar to those received by P+.blic Service Interns, the Council does hereby approve of and concur in such action; and for this purpose the Council does hereby determine to appropriate the sum of $349.21 from the Unexpended Fund Balance Account to the following Accounts in the following amounts• $320.40 to Account No 174-715 $ 28.81 to Account No. 174-720. A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result: AYES• Nash, Brown, Bishop and Raymond NAYS None. On motion of Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Raymond, and unanimously adopted, this 168th Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia was duly adjourned at 5.55 P M., July 1, 1977.
