HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1965-05-10 SPECIAL Page 7190 MINUTES OF THE NINETY-THIRD SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter IV of the City Charter, the above meeting was held on May 10, 1965, at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council at ap- proximately 8 05 p. m. . Roll was called with the following result- Present-- Rudolf R. Kleinert, James R. McCann, John F. Dooley, Edward H. McNamara and Daniel C. Allen. Absent--Peter A. Ventura. By Councilman Dooley, seconded by Councilman McNamara, it was #485-65 RESOLVED that, having considered the report and recommendation dated April 20, 1965, from the Mayor, the Council does hereby authorize the Department of Law to prepare an agreement for a 2-year period, com- mencing June 1, 1965, between the City of Livonia and Mr. Daniel R. Andrew, engaging the services of the latter as Industrial Development Coordinator for the City, at a rate of no less than $12,000.00 per annum, upon the same terms and conditions as are contained in the current contract between Mr. Andrew and the City, except as are herewith approved to be modified in the following respects- Mr. Andrew shall be entitled to become a member of the Livonia Retirement System and to receive such benefits in this regard as to which he may be eligible, and further, that the sum of $1,000.00 is hereby transferred from the Unappropriated Surplus Account to Account 170-1 of the Industrial Develop- ment Commission's budget for this purpose, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such agreement for and in behalf of the City and to do all things necessary or incidental to the full performance of this resolution A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result: AYES: Dooley, McNamara, Allen and Kleinert. NAYS: *McCann. *Councilman McCann asked that the record show that he was not objecting to the salary increase but to the amount, and did not reflect in any way as to the quality of the work of Mr. Andrew. The President declared the resolution adopted. Page 7191 On motion of Councilman Dooley, seconded by Councilman Allen and unanimously adopted, this 93rd Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia was duly adjourned at 8.07 P.
