MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY-EIGHTH REOULAR
MEETING CF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF LIVONIA
On July 22, 1964, the above meeting was held at the City Hall, 33001 Five
Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council
at approximately 8:01 P.M. Roll was called with the following results Present--
Rudolf R. Kleinert, Peter A. VenturalJohn T. Daugherty, Daniel C. Allen, John F.
Dooley and Edward H. McNamara. Absent-- James R. McCann.
By Councilman Ventura, seconded by Councilman Daugherty, it was
#608-64 RESOLVED that, having considered the letter dated July 13,
from the Mayor, vetoing resolution #581-64, adopted by the Council on
July 1, 1964, the Council does hereby readopt resolution #581-64, the
same as if it were word for word repeated herein.
The President of the Council made the following statement: The Aye votes of Council-
men Allen, McNamara and myself on this resolution are not on the merits of the
original resolution nor have any reflection on the person involved in that resolution.
We are only voting Aye to sustain the majority of the Council in its action in which
we believe the Mayor has no authority to veto.
A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result:
AYES: McNamara, Ventura, Daugherty, Allen, Dooley and Kleinert.
NAYS: None.
The President declared the resolution readopted and the Mayor's veto over-naled.
By CouncilmanVentura, seconded by Councilman McNamara, it was
RESOLVED that, having considered the letter dated July 13, 1964,
from the Mayor, which vetoes resolution #555-64, adopted on July 1, 1964,
the Council does hereby readopt resolution #555-64, the same as if it were
word for word repeated herein.
A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result:
AYES: McNamara, Ventura, Daugherty and Kleinert.
NAYS: Allen and Dooley.
The President declared the resolution denied because of lack of five affirmative

votes, and the Mayor's veto sustained.
On motion of Councilman Dooley, seconded by Councilman ellen and
unanimously adopted, this adjourned 458th regular meeting of the Council of the
City of Livonia was duly adjourned at 8:06 P. M., July 22, 1964.
