HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1961-07-21 SPECIAL Page 4BSy MINUTES OF THE SIXTY-FOURTH SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA L On July 21, 1961, the above meeting was held at 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council at approximately 7:20 P. M. Roll was called with the following result: Present -- Sydney B. Bagnall, Austin T. Grant, Rudolf R. Kleinert and William N. Ponder. Absent -- James R. McCann, John T. Daugherty and Jack Salvadore. The purpose of the meeting was to consider retaining counsel on Wayne County Circuit Court Case No. 612-291. By Councilman Ponder, seconded by Councilman Grant, it was #485-61 RESOLVED that, pursuant to subsection (n) of Section 14 of the Charter of the City of Livonia, and pursuant to the recommendation of the City Attorney dated July 21, 1961, the Council hereby retains William Wade, Attorney, 1045 Penobscot Building, Detroit 26, Michigan, as special legal counsel to represent the City Council in the case of Livonia Publishing Company, a Michigan Corporation, plaintiff, vs. City Lao of Livonia, et al, defendants, Wayne County Circuit Court Chancery Case No. 612-291; that said attorney be paid at the rate of $25.00 per hour with statements for services to be submitted by said attorney to the Council for approval prior to payment. A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result: AYES: Grant, Kleinert, Ponder and Bagnall. NAYS: None. On motion of Councilman Grant, seconded by Councilman McCann and unanimously adopted, this 64th Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia was duly adjourned at 7:21 P. M., July 21, 1961.
