HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1961-08-16 SPECIAL Page 14933 MINUTES OF THE SIXTY-SIXTH SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA Iwo Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter IV of the City Charter, the above meeting was held on August 16, 1961, at 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council at approximately 8:35 P. M. Roll was called with the following result: Present-- Sydney B. Bagnall, John T. Daugherty, William N. Ponder, Rudolf R. Kleinert, Jack Salvadore and James R. McCann. Absent-- Austin T. Grant. By Councilman Kleinert, seconded by Councilman McCann and unanimously adopted, it was #565-61 RESOLVED that, having considered the report and recommendation of the City Planning Commission, dated August 16, 1961, in regard to Petition No. Z-513 submitted by Walter Rozycki on behalf of the Franciscan Sisters, for change of zoning in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 14 from RIJFB and C-2 to R-3, the Council does hereby concur with the recommendation of the City Planning Commission and said Petition No. Z-513 is hereby granted; and the Department of Law is hereby requested to prepare an ordinance iw. amending Ordinance No. 60 in accordance with this resolution. Councilman Salvadore was excused at 9:00 P. M., and returned at 9:03 P. M. By Councilman McCann, seconded by Councilman Daugherty, it was #566-61 RESOLVED that, the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Livonia with the Wayne County Road Commission for the purpose of widening Middlebelt Road from Five Mile Road to Eight Mile Road; that such contract shall be on the cost basis of 1/3 to be paid by the City and 2/3 to be paid by the County; and that resolution #215-61 adopted on April 10, 1961, is hereby amended accordingly only as it pertains to City-County participation on cost. A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result: AYES: Salvadore, McCann, Daugherty and Ponder. NAYS: Kleinert and Bagnall. The President declared the resolution adopted. On motion of Councilman Kleinert, seconded by Councilman McCann and unanimously adopted, this 66th special meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia was duly adjourned at 9:06 P.
