HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1958-10-21 SPECIAL Page 3643 MINUTES OF THE FORTY-THIRD SPECIAL METING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA Pursuant to Chapter IV, Section 8, of the City Charter, and with the consent of all members of the Council, the above meeting was held on October 21, 1958, at 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President at approximate]y 10:10 P. M. Roll was called with the following result: Present-- A ustin T. Grant, Frank O'Neill, Sydney B. Bagnall, Rudolf R. Kleinert, Robert Sasser, Jack Salvadore and James R. McCann. Absent-- None. Councilman Kleinert read and introduced the following emergency Ordinance. NO. 227 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 10, 11, 14, 15, 21, 22, 24, 31, and 33 OF THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA, AND AYENDING ARTICLE 3.00 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE, ORDINANCE NO. 60, AS AMENDED, OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA BY ADDING THERETO SECTIONS 3.179, 3.180, 3.181, 3.182, 3.183, 3.184 AND 3.185. THE CITY OF LIVONIA ORDAINS: Section 1. The reports and recommendations of the City Planning Commission dated September 15s 1958, on Petitions No. Z-267 as amended, No. 290 as amended, No. Z-301 as amended, No. Z-304 as amended, No. Z-308, No. Z-311, and dated October 15, 1958 on Petition No. Z-317, having been considered by the Council, the Council hereby adopts said petitions to amend the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map of the City of Livonia, and all proceedings heretofore conducted on said petitions are hereby approved. Section 2. Article 3.00 of the Zoning Ordinance, Ordinance No. 60, as amended, of the City of Livonia, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following sections: Section 3.179, Petition No. Z-267, as amended, of Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Rasmussen is hereby granted and the zoning classification of the premises described in said amended petition is hereby changed from RUFB to C-1 as requested in said amended petition, that is to a depth of 360 feet as measured south from the centerline of Ann Arbor Road, and the Southwest 1/4 of Section 31 of the Zoning Map is hereby amended to conform to the Changs made in this section. Section 3.180. Petition No. Z-290, as amended, of Daniel and Patricia Bourdas is hereby granted and the zoning classification of the premises described in said amended petition is hereby changed from RUFB to C-1 as requested in said amended petitions and the Northwest and Northeast 1/4 of Section 14 of the Zoning Map is hereby amended to conform to the change made in this section. Petition No. Z-301, as amended, of Morris Friedman, et al, is hereby granted and the zoning classification of the premises described in said amended petition is hereby changed from AGB and RUFB to R-1-A as requested in said amended petition, and the Southwest and Southeast 1/4 of Section 21 of the Zoning Map is hereby amended to conform to the change made in this section. Section 3.182. Petition No. Z-304, as amended, of Carey Homes, Inc., is hereby granted and the zoning classification of the premises described in said amended petition is hereby changed from RUFB to R-1-A as requested in said amended petition, and the Southwest 1/4 of Section 22 of the Zoning Map is hereby amended to conform to the change made in this section. Section 3.183. Petition No. Z-308 as submitted by Donald Deremo for Leonard E. Ricketts is hereby granted and the zoning classification of the premises described in said petition is hereby changed from C-1 to C-2 as requested in said petition, and the Northwest 1/4 of Section 24 of the Zoning Map is hereby amended to conform to the change made in this section. Section 3.184. Petition No. Z-311 of Joseph and Patricia Cyr is hereby granted and the zoning classification of the premises described in said petition is hereby changed from RUFB to C-2 as requested in said petition, and the Northeast 1/4 of Section 33 of the Zoning Map is hereby amended to conform to the change made in this section. Section 3. 185. Petition No. Z-317 initiated by the City Planning Com- mission on its own motion is hereby granted and approved to the extent that the commercial zoning classification of the Northwest and Northeast corners of Merriman Road and Six Mile t.oed, being a part of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 10 and a part of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 11 respectively, is hereby changed from C-1 to RL, and to the extent that the comnercial zoning classification of the Southwest and Southeast corners of Merriman Road and Six Mile Road, being a part of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 15 and a part of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 14 respectively, is hereby changed from C-1 to RUE', and the Zoning Map is hereby amended to conform to the change made in this section. Section 3. The attached map designated "Amendment No. l.3 of the Zoning Map of the City of Livonia," showing all of the amendments and changes made in the fore- going Section 2 of this ordinance, is hereby approved, established and made a part thereof. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed only to the extent necessary to give this ordinance full force and effect. Section 5. Should any portion of this ordinance be held invalid for any reason, such holding shall not be construed as affecting the validity of any of the remaining portions of this ordinance. Section 6. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance, necessary to the protection of the public health, safety and welfare, and shall become effective immediately on publication. Page 3645 A roll call vote was conducted on the foregoing ordinance with the following result: AYES: O'Neill, Bagnall, Kleinert, Sasser, Salvadoreā€ž McCann and Grant. NAYS: None, The President declared the ordinance duly adopted and would become effective on publication. On motion of Councilman Bagnall, seconded by Councilman McCann and unanimously adopted, this 43rd special meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia was duly adjourned at 10:22 P.
