HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1952-06-16 ADJOURNED Page 805 MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED SEVENTY-SECOND REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA lir On June 16, 1952, above meeting was held at 33211 W Seven Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order at approximately 8.05 P. M. by the President of the Council, Harry S Wolfe Roll was called with the following result: Present-- Harry S Wolfed Raymond E. Grimm, John Whitehead, Nettie Carey, and William Taylor Absent-- Wilson W. Edgar and Harvey Jahn City Clerk Marie W. Clark read to the Council letter from Hubbell, Roth and Clark, Inc dated June 16, 1952, and letter from Coulter Bros. Inc. dated June 10, 1952, pertaining to Section #4 of Sewage Disposal System No 1, which letters were received and placed on file Mr Albert Roth, consulting engineer, appeared before the Council and discussed the matters mentioned in such letters. In explaining his letter of June 16th, Mr. Roth stated and certified to the Council that the sum of $2851.90 to be retained by the city as recommended in such letter is sufficient IL to cover all claims against Coulter Bros. on Section #4. By Councilman Taylor, seconded by Councilman Grimm and unanimously adopted as follows, it was: #82 RESOLVED, that the communication from Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. dated June 16, 1952, pertaining to Section 4 of Sewage Disposal System No. 1 be referred to the Department of Public Works and the City Clerk for their report and recommendations; that Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. be requested to deliver to the Council a letter showing in detail all claims filed or known to exist in relation to said Section 4, the particulars of each claim, whether or not payment is recommended in any amount and the reasons for such recommendation; and that the City Attorney be requested to negotiate a disposition of the Mark Leach claim on receipt of an explanatory letter from Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. concerning such claim By Councilman Carey, seconded by Councilman Whitehead and unanimously adopted as follows, it was: Page 806 #83 RESOLVED, that the communication from the Department of Parks and Recreation dated June 16, 1952, and recommending purchase of certain land in the N W. 1/4 of Section 36, be referred to the City Planning ILw commission for its report and recommendation, with a request that such report be furnished on or before June 23, 1952.
