HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2010-05-13MINUTES OF THE 656th REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION The 656th Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third floor conference room at City Hall on Thursday, May 13, 2010, and was called to order by Chairman Joe Steele_ PRESENT_ Commissioners Gordon Draper, Jim Policelli, Kevin Purdy, John Katers, Cindi Quinn, Gordon St John along with Police Sergeant John Gibbs were present The minutes of the April 8, 2010, were reviewed_ Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Mr. Purdy and approvetl it was approved that 10-11 RESOLVED, the commission minutes for April 8, 2010 be approved as presented The commission reviewetl speed limit signs at Churchill High School on Newburgh Road and upon a motion by Cindi Quinn and seconded by Gordon St John it was approved that 10-12 RESOLVED, the commission approves the following sign changes: 0 Install S 2 (end school zone) northbound 9116 Newburgh Road 0 Installs 2 approximately200'south ofestablished crosswalk at8985 Newburgh Road at Carver Center 0 Remove speed sign at 9229 Newburgh Read The commission reviewed the placement of No Left Tum on Red sign on the southbound entrance from Newburgh Read into Holmes School. Upon a motion by Gordon Draper and seconded by John Katers it was approved that: 10-13 RESOLVED, that the sign be removed The commission reviewetl the placement of No Parking signs on Brookfield Road sough of Five Mile Read Upon a motion by Kevin Purdy and seconded by Gordon Draper it was approved that 10-14 RESOLVED, that No Parking signs be installed as follows: On Westside Brookfield south of Five Mile to north edge of wooded area The commission approved upon a motion by John Katers and seconded! by Jim Policelli that 10-15 RESOLVED, that Chairman Joe Steele sign and approve Traffic Control Orders (TCO) 16 6,]and 8. The commission approved byco sensus to move agenda dem request of Blintl Person in Area sign from Linda Walsh that 10-16 RESOLVED, that this agenda item by moved to Thursday, June 10, 2010 Traffic Commission meeting. The commission reviewed a request from Kevin Fairly to have a traffic study on No Turn on Rod sign at northbound Newburgh Road at Eight Mile Road Upon a motion from Kevin and seconded by Jim Policelli_ 10-17 RESOLVED, that the Traffic Improvement Association (r W) would perform a traffic Flow evaluation on this intersection and report to the commission Upon motion by Kevin Pnddy and seconded by Jim Pulicelli and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the meeting be adjourned at 82o pm.
