LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION
The 661" Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third door conference room
at City Hall on Thursday, October 14, 2010, and was called to order by Chairman Joe Steel_
PRESENT: Commissioners Gordon Draper, Jim Policelli, Kevin Priddy, John Katers, Gordon St John
along with Police Officer Sergeant John Gibbs_
VISITORS ATTENDING: Lyle Trudell, 15100 Hubbard Street, Livonia
The minutes of the September 9, 2010 mwbW were reviewed.
Added to the September meeting minutes was a discussion lead by Gordon Draper. His
observation was that school buses, while on Lyndon at Vale, are stopping We close to this
intersection for safe off-loading of students. Sgt John Gibbs discussed this matter with the
Superintendent of School Transportation for resolution.
Upon a motion by Gordon Draper, seconded! by John Katers, it was approved by unanimous vote that
10-38 RESOLVED, the commission minutes tram September 9, 2010 be approved as amended
Lyle Trudell stated that with the addition of the new PlayScape in Beverly Park, signs alerting vehole
traffic of increased pedestrians (children and adults) in the park are warranted Sgt John Gibbs has
reviewed the area and recommends Playground W am W signs (W-151) at the ollowN lorabons_ 1)
westbound Pickfortl between Flom ingo and Hillcrest 2) southbound in front of 1&513 Flamingo; and 3)
eastbound Picoord at the west edge of the city park_
Upon a motion by Gordon Draper, seconded by Jim Policelli, L was approved by unanimous vote that
10J9 RESOLVED, that the Playground Waming signs in the area of Beverly Park, be installed as
presented.
The Commission has approved the placement of new Fire Lane signs at the Iblian Amencan Club at
39200 Five Mil Road. The placement of the signs was approved by the Fire Department, and are located
on the eastside of the building at the circular drive and within the circular portion of the driveway on the
eastsida of the building, and the eastlwest drive that is parallel to Five Mile_
Upon a motion by John Katers, seconded by Kevin Podtly, it was approved by unanimous vote_
1040 RESOLVED, that the Fire Lane signs are approved as installed_
1041 RESOLVED, that Chairman Joe Steele sign and approve Traffic Control Orders (TCO) 16
12, 10.13 and 10-14.
RESOLVED, that the meeting be adjourned at 020 pm.
