HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2010-12-09MINUTES OF THE 662nd REGULAR MEETING LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION The 662nd Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third floor conference room at City Hall on Thursday, December 9, 2010, was called to order by Chairman Joe Steele. PRESENT: Commissioners Gordon Draper, Jim Policelli, Kevin Priddy, John Katers, along with Police Officer: Sergeant John Gibbs and City Engineer: Todd Zilincik VISITORS ATTENDING: Suzanne Mignn, 14074 Ingram Street, Livonia; Dwayne Roszkowski, 14139 Berwick Street, Livonia. The minutes of the October 14, 2010 meeting were reviewed. Upon a motion by Gordon Draper seconded by John Eaters it was approved by unanimous vote that: 10-42 RESOLVED, the commission minutes from October 14, 2010 he approved as presented. Suzanne Migrin stated that the lack of stop signs on Lyndon and Hubbard (vicinity of Jackson School) creates a safety hazard for students attending the school. Joe Steele explained in detail to Suzanne the standards for stop signs and that this application is similar to sigoage in other school zones. Additionally, Sgt John Gibbs stated that crossing guards are assigned to the school to aid students crossing the roads. Upon a motion by Gordon Draper seconded by John Eaters it was approved by unanimous vote that: 10 43 RESOLVED that no further action he taken. Dwayne Roszkowski requested speed limit (25 MPH) signs at two entrances to his subdivision - southeast portion of section 22(Merriman Farms). Dwayne stated that vehicles travelling westbound on Schoolcraft Service Drive at 45MPH enter through Berwick Street should be reminded that the speed limit is 25 MPH. Additionally, he requested a similar speed sign on westbound Scone at Merriman and Berwick A Grenada Street Upon a motion by Gordon Drapers seconded by Jim Policelli it was approved by unanimous vote: 10-44 RESOLVED that speed Run it sign be placed on Berwick Street and Scone entrances to the subdivision and on Berwick and Grenada Streets. Todd Zilincik reviewed the City of Livonia Road and Traffic Improvement Program for the 2011 calendar year and projected road and traffic improvements within Wayne County.
