HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2011-05-12MINUTES OF THE 61 REGULAR MEETING LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION The 666th Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission held in the third door conference room at City Hall on Thursday, May 12, 2011, was calletl to order by Chairman Joe Steele_ PRESENT: Commissioners Gordon Draper, Cindi Quinn, Jim Pulicelli, Kevin Pridtly, John Katers along with Police Officer: Chris Koff. VISITORS ATTENDING: Ken Roberts, 16711 Bell Creek Lane, Livonia 48154 The minutes of the March 10, 2011, meetin0 was reviewed. Upon a motion by John Katers, seconded by Kevin Priddy, abstained by Gordon Draper, it was approvetl by unanimous vote that 1150 RESOLVED, the commission minutes from March 10, 2011, are approved as presented. Ken Roberts stated that no parking' signs were installed in front of his residence at 16711 Bell Creek Lane In discourage Ward Church overflow parking (the church has since moved), however, the an parking sgns mmain in the area. Roberts would like In have the signs removed In allow for resident parking. After much discussion debating the value of street parking in that area, Joe Steele suggested that Roberts survey his neighbors solidfing their input prior to any removal of the signs _ Robertsagreed with that plan aid sad he would report back to the commission ores month. This topic will remain an OPENISSUE. A correspondence from Gary Smolinse to the Traffic Commission requesting clhevrons on northbourd Terence (this road transverses multi -directionally in section 13) and Sunnydale was reviewed. The commission thoroughly discussed this request and agreed to the request Upon a motion by Gordon Draper aid seconded by Cindi Quinn d was approved by unanimous vote that 11-51, RESOLVED to install chevrons on northbound Terrence north of Sunnydale Roads A correspondence, forwarded from city council member Maureen Miller Brosnan, received from Norm Ponkey requesting traffic enforcement for speeding vehicles on Levan Read between Seven and Curtis Rands was discussed! The police department has respondetl with increased patrols and issued numerous violations In offenders_ Officer Kot indicated that the majority of offenders are local residents of the area.
