Upon a motion by Gordon Draper and seconded by John Eaters, it was approved by a unanimous vote that: 14159 RESOLVED, that a `NO OUTLET" sign (W 142) be placed on the east side of Canterbury Street north of Seven Mile Road in Section 3. Agenda Item 3: Ms. Changu Selene, 27521 Long, requested that speed limit signs be placed on her street between Inkster and Angling. Sgt. Boitos confirmed that there were no speed limit signs along Long. There was a discussion whether signs were needed A both ends of the street orjust at Inkster. Upon a motion by Kevin Priddy and seconded by John Katers, it was approved by a three to one vote that: 14160 RESOLVED, that a 25 mph speed limit sign (R 2-1) be placed north of Long and east of Inkster in Section 1. Note: The negative vote was cast in the belief that signs should be placed at both ends of Long. Agenda Item 4: An mounted citizen requested, through the mayor's office, that "No Parking" signs be placed on the west side of Hubbard between Lyndon and Five Mile. Hubbard is wide enough to accommodate traffic even when cars are parked on both sides of the street The commission usually requests the petitioner to collect signatures of the vast majority of the affected residents showing support for the restriction. No action was taken. Agenda Item 5: A citizen requested a "No Parking" sign at Hix and Lyndon as drivers park too close to the intersection. Even though it is already against the law, it was felt reminder signs were necessary. Upon a motion by Gordon Draper and seconded by Kevin Priddy, it was passed by a unanimous vote that: 14161 RESOLVED, that "No Parking" sign (R &3) with a supplementary plaque stating "From here to corner" he erected on the east side of His and south of Lyndon in Section 19. Agenda Item 6: There is a problem with the "No Parking" signs along Horton between Ann Arbor Road and Ann Arbor Trail in Section 31. Although there are already TCOs for these signs, some seem to be missing and others are poorly placed. Upon a motion by John Katers and seconded by Kevin Priddy, it was passed with a unanimous vote that: 14162 RESOLVED, that the sign shop review and improve the placement of the "No Parking" signs (R 8-3) along Horton Street between Ann Arbor Trail and Ann Arbor Road in Section 31. Agenda Item 7: A very well-written letter was received from Clara Bielawski, a Churchill High School Fresbman, requesting a stop sign at Grenada and Weshnore in Section 22. She had nearly been hit by a speeding SUV while she was riding her bike. The intersection does not warrant a stop sign from either traffic volume or poor visibility. It appears that the primary reason for the incident is poor driving, which no signage can solve. Reflective tape will improve the visibility of the `Yield' sign on the comer and it was agreed by consensus that such tape be installed. 14163 RESOLVED, that reflective tape be installed on the "Yield" sign at Grenada and Westmore in Section 22. Agenda Item S: John Katers presented a problem of drivers not respecting the `Yield" signs for Orangelawn in Section 34. Malting the signs more visible with reflective tape might help the situation. Upon a motion by Gordon Draper and seconded by John Katers, it was passed with a unanimous vote that: 14164 RESOLVED, that reflective tape be installed on the "Yield" signs for both north and south bound traffic along Orangelawn at Loveland, Mayfield, Brookfield, and Fairfield in Section 34.
