Called to Order: 6:30 P. M. Present: Ralph Bakewell, Kathy Bilger, Sue Daniel, Kathy Johnson-Bartshe, Jim Kline, Don Knapp and Kathie Glynn Absent: Other: Linda Wiacek Correspondence reviewed: MHPN Conference May 12 - 15, 2016 at Wayne State University. Old House Journal & Preservation magazines received. Minutes: The August minutes were reviewed. Jim Kline moved and Kathy Bilger seconded a motion to approve the minutes as written. Motion passed unanimously. New Business: Linda Wiacek reported that the HPC has some money in remaining in this year's budget. Moved by Kathy Johnson-Bartshe and seconded by Kathie Glynn to approve the balance of the HPC budget on repairing/restoring headstones. Kathy Bilger requested that when it's necessary to visit a cemetery, that all commissioners be notified. Request noted. Election of Officers: Jim Kline moved and Don Knapp seconded the following slate of officers: Chairperson: Kathy Johnson-Bartshe Vice-chairperson: Kathie Glynn Secretary: Kathy Bilger Treasurer: Jim Kline Motion approved unanimously. Annual Christmas Dinner with Historical Commission (Wed 12/9/2015) Discussed plans for the menu, the location, the invitations etc. Kator House 36235 Seven Mile Credible information regarding the condition of the house was brought to Linda Wiacek. The information was given to the HPC, Linda McCann and Alex Bishop. Mr. Bishop recommended that a letter be sent to the owners inviting them to come to our next meeting to discuss the issue. Kathy Bilger moved and seconded by Jim Kline to write the homeowners inviting them to come to our next meeting (January 6, 2016) to discuss the matter. Motion approved. Don Knapp abstained. Old Business: 34235 W. Seven Mile Road. Nothing to report. Union Church/Grange Hall (Little Tots) Nothing to report. Greenmead: Linda Wiacek reported: • The Farmhand's House and the Meeting House roofs are being repaired. • Grandma's Attic Nov. 21 • Meeting House - needs gutters to deflect water from freezing on the walkway. The matter is urgent because this is a rental building. Don Knapp moved and Ralph Bakewell seconded a motion to install white vinyl gutters (with a leaf shield) on the northeast and northwest corners draining into concrete splash pads. Motion passed unanimously. Certified Local Government: The issue was tabled for now.
