The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. Members Present: Also Present: Charles Locke, President, AFSCME Union Local 192 Steve Schoonover, Vice -President, AFSCME Union Local 192 Ronald Campau, Chairperson Charlotte S. Washington, Personnel Analyst II Gretchen Guisbert, Secretary III Upon a motion by Mr. Tatigian, seconded by Ms. Mahoney and unanimously adopted, it was 08-210 RESOLVED, That the minutes of the 1253rd Regular Meeting held Wednesday, October 22, 2008, be approved as submitted. Upon a motion by Ms. Mahoney, seconded by Mr. Tatigian and unanimously adopted, it was 08-211 RESOLVED, That having reviewed the correspondence of October 28, 2008, from Larry Rushing, Code Enforcement Officer, and approved for submission by Alex Bishop, Director of Inspection, requesting an unpaid medical leave of absence, the Civil Service Commission does hereby confirm the administrative approval of Mr. Rushing's request for an unpaid medical leave of absence from December 11, 2008, through December 23, 2008, subject to Mr. Rushing providing additional medical certification from his personal physician. 08-212 RESOLVED, That having reviewed the correspondence of November 6, 2008, from Walter Krol, Water Meter Repairer II, and approved for submission by Brian Wilson, Superintendent of Public Service, requesting an extension of an unpaid medical leave of absence, the Civil Service Commission does hereby confirm the administrative approval of Mr. Krol's request for an extension of an unpaid medical leave of absence from November 19, 2008 through December 7, 2008. The Commission received and fled the following: Status of Temporary Employees Report for October 2008. Non -Resident Report as of November 1, 2008. Current Open -Competitive and Promotional Eligible Lists as of November 1, 2008. Affirmative Action Report for October 2008. 08-213 RESOLVED, That having reviewed the expiring eligible lists for the month of December 2008 — Accountant 11 (904 o.c.), Civil Engineer (881 o.c.), Page 1254' Regular Meeting November 19, 2008 Account Clerk II (1266 p.) and Service Representative (Water) (1248 p.), the Civil Service Commission does hereby approve the extension of the Account Clerk II (1266 p.) eligible list for six (6) months until June 5, 2009. In addition, the Commission received and fled the following: f. Removal of names from the active eligible list report for the month of November 2008: Building Inspector (916 o.c.) Council Resolution #448-08 from the meeting of October 8, 2008 with minutes to be approved October 22, 2008, appointing Elizabeth McCue to the Livonia Plymouth Road Development Authority. h. Council Resolution #478-08 from the meeting of October 22, 2008 with minutes to be approved November 5, 2008, adopting the annual budget for fiscal year December 1, 2008 through November 30, 2009. 08-214 RESOLVED, That having reviewed the letter of October 16, 2008, from Robert Nenciarini, Police Lieutenant, as approved for submission by Robert Stevenson, Police Chief, requesting permission to carry over vacation days in excess of the maximum based on a new projected retirement date of October 31, 2011, the Civil Service Commission does hereby approve Mr. Nenciarinfs request to carry over excess vacation days up to a maximum payout of sixty- eight (68) days as provided by Civil Service RULE 25, LEAVES, Section 25.1. 08-215 RESOLVED, That having reviewed the letter of November 1, 2008, from former Police Dispatcher Sharon Cracchiolo requesting reinstatement of employment with the City of Livonia, the Civil Service Commission does hereby approve forwarding Ms. Cracchiolo's name to the Police Chief with names from the Police Dispatcher eligible list as they are certified for employment consideration. 08-216 RESOLVED, That having reviewed the letter of November 14, 2008, from Evelyn Tmckly, Clerk -Typist II, as recommended for approval by Kathleen Monroe, City Librarian, requesting an extension of an unpaid medical leave of absence, the Civil Service Commission does hereby approve an extension of an unpaid medical leave of absence for Ms. Truckly from December 10, 2008 through January 22, 2008. Upon a motion by Mr. Tatigian, seconded by Ms. Mahoney and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, That the meeting be adjourned at 5:35 p.m. Gretchen Guisbert, Secretary III Ronald E.
