Balcoff, J Claypoole, J Grzebik, J Keller, N Ideh, J Nork, D Spurling Excused/Absence L. Duggan, G Gostias Staff• C Swish Meeting was called to Order at 6.45 P.M. Approval of November 2, 2015 Minutes. A Motion to approve the minutes as written was made by Commissioner Nork and seconded by Commissioner Grzebik. Motion carried Financial Report: A. Passbook Account Balance $ 10,995 83 B Trust Fund Account Balance $ 17,389 39 Announcements and Communications. No Announcements or Communications Old Business. A. Thank You Notes —Commissioner Nork will send out thank you notes to businesses that helped out with the Holiday Party Commissioner Claypoole provided a list of helpers and all thank you notes have already been sent out. Chairperson Spurling reintroduced the idea of presenting plaques to businesses who donate to the commission's functions This idea was well received Motion 16-02-1 made by Commissioner Claypoole and seconded by Commissioner Nork to allocate $250 00 to cover the plaques Motion Approved B. Holiday Party Recap—This year's program went well, however, there was a suggestion from Bill Heaton, Livonia Goodfellows He suggested that the Goodfellows stamp the hands of the recipients and children to show that they are part of the Holiday Party program The commissioners liked the idea and agreed to provide the stamp and ink. C Arbor Day Program —The date is set for Tuesday, April 19th at the Livonia Senior Center Commissioner Balcoff has not made the final decision on the Tree selection, but he is looking the cost of Eastern Redbud Trees D. No Further Old Business i Livonia Youth Commission Meeting Minutes February 2, 2016 Page 2 New Business. - -- � A. 2016 Budget Motion 16-02-02-A motion was made by Commissioner Nork and seconded by Commissioner Balcoff to approve the 2016 operating budget. Motion carried Plaques for Sponsors $ 250 2016 Spree Scholarships $ 150 Activity Nights $ 1,000 Arbor Day Project $ 1,500 Senior All Night Parties $ 1,250 High School Certificates $ 350 Family Day Spree $ 300 Back Pack Program $ 1,200 Holiday Celebration $ 5,000 Misc. Expenses $ Total $11,000 B Youth Concert Sponsorship— Parks and Recreation department would like the Youth Commission to sponsor a series of children's concerts during the summer months at Rotary Park. Motion 16-02-3 -A motion was made to co-sponsor a series of children's concerts during the summer months at Rotary Park in the amount of$500 by Commissioner Keller and seconded by Commissioner Nork. Motion carried C Senior All Night Parties- It was previously noted that since two of the high schools chose to take their SANP off of the school property that the Commission would no longer support the SANP A request was made to instead support the senior breakfast at the two schools The commission discussed the matter and agreed Motion 16-02-4—was made by Commissioner Grzebik and seconded by Commissioner lded to allow a $250 donation to each for the Senior Breakfast. Vote was 6 Aye and 1 No Motion passed Adjournment:A motion16-02-5 was made to adjourn at 7 45 P M by Commissioner Claypoole and seconded by Commissioner Grzebik.
