HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2016-02-11 MINUTES OF THE 718th REGULAR MEETING LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION The 718'h Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third-floor conference room at City Hall on Thursday, February 11, 2016; it was called to order by Chairperson Jim Policelli at 7:30 p.m. PRESENT: Commissioners: Jim Policelli, Gordon Draper, John Katers, Gordon St John, Kevin Priddy, and Jim Keller; and Livonia Police Department Sergeant Brian Leigh. Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the January 14, 2016, meeting were reviewed. Commissioner Draper offered a correction to Agenda Item 44 with respect to Resolution 16-205. The item needed to be amended to include Levan Road northbound and the northeast corner of Schoolcraft Road, to clarify where signage will be installed. Thereafter, Commissioner Draper offered a motion to approve the minutes as corrected and with support from Commissioner Katers, it was approved by majority vote that: 16-207 RESOLVED, the minutes of the Januaryl4, 2016, meeting are approved as corrected. Chairperson's Comments: An email request was submitted regarding the timing of the traffic signal at Five Mile and Levan. The individual stated that the timing was not sufficient enough for a left turn and also the yellow signal phase did not remain for as long as it could. Wayne County investigated and reported back that the light timing had been updated. This was also the case for traffic signals at Six Mile and Farmington and Newburgh and N. Laurel Park Drive. Update on Franklin High School traffic concern, section 35. A light post and light has been ordered and paid for and will be installed soon. A motion to sign TCO 16-1 was made by Commissioner Draper and with support from Commissioner Katers, it was approved by majority vote that: 16-208 RESOLVED, Traffic Control Order (TCO) 16-1 be signed.
