GUESTS: Lauren Engels, Jody White, Robert Stano and John Grzebik. Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the November 10, 2016, meeting were reviewed. Commissioner Draper offered a motion to approve the minutes as written and with support from Commissioner Katers, it was approved by unanimous vote that: 16-232 RESOLVED, the minutes of the November 10, 2016, meeting are approved as written. Agenda Item 2: Levan Road crosswalk, section 17. Ms. Engels revisited the commission meeting to discuss any further possibility of re-signing or restructuring the crosswalk cutting across Levan road in front of Hoover School. The commission shared with her that there was little that could be done short of reconstructing the median area, which would have to be approved through City Council. The commission suggested she address her concerns with the Council and the Mayor’s office. Agenda Item 3: Traffic citation on Churchill High School property. Ms. White visited the commission looking for assistance with a citation issued to her son on school property. She feels she did not receive good treatment from the court or the police department while requesting ticket data. The commission informed her that type of data was not available to them and, therefore, we were unable to assist her with her request. Roundtable Discussion: Holiday Coffee with the mayor will take place December 15th at City Hall. Todd shared upcoming road projects in 2017; Farmington Road between Seven and Eight Mile, and Plymouth Road from Farmington to Telegraph in Redford, with the commission. Seven and Eight Mile road reconstruction is complete; however, next spring some additional work is required on the center turn lane of Eight Mile. Traffic studies to take place along Levan Road and Five Mile; Meadowbrook at Levan and Plymouth Road; and the Ann Arbor Road/Trail intersections, including a historical bridge deck containing a portion of Hines Drive. Commissioner Draper shared with the commission some photographs of a recent trip to Cuba and how their traffic signals and signage differ from standards in the U.S. The meeting was adjourned at 8:56 p.m. NEXT MEETING: Thursday, January 12, 2017, at City Hall. Respectfully submitted, Jim Keller Recording Secretary
