HomeMy WebLinkAboutZBA AGENDA 2017-09-12 AGENDA Zoning Board of Appeals CITY OF LIVONIA (734) 466-2259 September 12, 2017 – 7:00 p.m. Livonia City Hall - Auditorium (1st Floor) APPEAL CASE NO. 2017-08-44 (Tabled on August 15, 2017): Carissa Eden, south side of Sunset (13956) between Perth and Hubbell, seeking to erect a six (6) foot tall privacy fence upon a corner lot, resulting in the fence being placed in the side yard, which is not allowed. Privacy fences must not extend beyond the rear line of the home to the front of the lot. Also, the fence is excess in height in the corner side yard. APPEAL CASE NO. 2017-09-50: James Wilder, east side of Ellen (14128) between Schoolcraft and Perth, seeking to erect a six (6) foot tall vinyl privacy fence adjacent to the south property line without acquiring the neighbors approval. Privacy fencing adjacent to the property line requires the adjacent neighbor’s approval. APPEAL CASE NO. 2017-09-51: Ian Thornton, south side of Long (27933) between Deering and Floral, seeking to erect a six (6) foot tall privacy fence upon a corner lot, resulting in excess fence height and the fence being placed in the side yard, which is not allowed. APPEAL CASE NO. 2017-09-52: TG2, LLC / Motor City Peaks, LLC Livonia, 23925 Industrial Park, Farmington Hills, MI 48335, seeking to erect additional wall signs to a commercial building (restaurant) on property located on the east side of Haggerty (20120) between Phillips Road and Eight Mile, resulting in excess number of wall signs and wall sign area. Aside: Two existing wall signs were issued from a previous variance granted: 2008-02-05. APPEAL CASE NO. 2017-09-53: Robert and Kathern Schliewe, north side of Schoolcraft (33130) between Brookfield and Farmington, seeking to erect a six (6) foot tall vinyl privacy fence to match what is existing on the west property line, resulting in the fence placed ten (10) feet within the side yard. Privacy fences cannot extend beyond the rear of the home toward the front lot line. APPEAL CASE NO. 2017-09-54: Nicholas Roach, south side of Pollyanna (16303) between Farmington and Burton, seeking to erect a seven (7) foot tall vinyl privacy fence upon a corner lot, resulting in excess fence height and erecting the privacy fence in the side yard, which is not allowed. Privacy fences cannot extend beyond the rear line of home toward the front property line. This fence does not align with the corresponding fencing to the rear of this property.
