Voting Meeting Minutes
Call to Order 6:02 p.m.
Attendance: Ralph Bakewell, Cynthia Immonen, Kathleen Glynn, Kathleen Johnson-Bartshe,
Jim Kline, Donald Knapp, Danielle Lewon, Emily Tchorz
Approval of Minutes
DK made a motion to approve for voting minutes of August 2017 with spelling corrections. KG
Seconded. Aye-7, Nay-0
Correspondences-
New Old House Journal
Michigan looking into reissuing the Michigan historic preservation state tax credit program.
There will be a luncheon to for advocates. November 8th, rsvp by November 3rd, Michigan
Historic Preservation Network.
Current Issues
Cemetery Walk- deposited $515, committee has suggested to not do it again.
Other ideas: add a lecture of funeral practices and how they changed. Tour of our historic
properties. Road Rally. Cemetery workshop in Briggs. Fall Road Rally in September - expand
with a few other groups like historic car club. GM- genealogy tours of houses in the spring, more
in depth. Pick a day- September 29 or 30. Have a December meeting, to vote and have time to
discuss with HC. Picked Sunday, September 30, fall cemetery fund raiser with intent to create a
road rally.
Historical Commission said no to a Christmas dinner with City Council. Maybe we do a summer
progressive dinner for council.
MOMCC $95.00 for 3 people reimbursement.
Motion 11/01 :Budget was mostly spent, remains $693.87. Asking for MOMCC funds to use up
the money that we have been allotted. CI- moves to allow $285 for MOMCC conference fees.
JK- seconded, Aye- 4, Nay-0, Abstain- 3.
Motion11/02: JK- moves to use the remaining funds from our budget toward the purchase of
2018 fall funding raising prizes. CI- seconded. Aye- 7, Nay-0
New Issues
New fund raiser idea, more detailed tours for a few extra $.
