Voting Meeting
Wednesday, May 16, 2018
The meeting was called to order on May 16, 2018 at the Alexander Blue House at 6:33
p.m.
Present: Deanna Brown, Mary Cambridge, Nancy Frye, Barbara Mansfield, Michael
Marihugh, Stephanie Miner, Gary Pritchard, Sandi Pritchard, Patty Trojan

I. Review of minutes: Patty Trojan, Secretary
a. April 18, 2018 Voting meeting minutes reviewed
Corrections to be made:
Add Motion #’s and correct Vaughn’s name
II. Treasurer’s Reports: Mary Cambridge, Treasurer
Mary Cambridge presented April Report
Hinbern Sales ($16.00), Church Rentals ($1,500.00), Meeting House Rentals ($600.00),
Donations ($5,220.00), Flea Market ($6,720.00). Jewelry Sale ($5,870.25) best sale
ever. Happily Every After did make $700 more than was stated last month funds were
posted in November. Expenses Supervisors and Office Staff ($560.00), Meeting House
Supervisors ($45.00)
III. Reports:
Chairman’s report: Stephanie attended Jewelry Sale. Customers were taking tags and
changing or removing totally.
a. Commissioner’s report of building reviews:
A list containing Maintenance Issues on buildings was handed out for review.
Discussion was had and these were things we felt were a priority:
All Handicap ramps need to be evaluated.
Safety First issues
Fire Extinguishers checked and replaced if needed
Fix Holes
Vestibule Leak in Church
History House quote on water in basement waiting to hear price
Bungalow Steps need to be fixed
Window needs to be patched
Greenhouse bids due May 22nd (westside of building is part of greenhouse on Carriage
House)
05/01 A motion to have Emily get quotes on safety issues, fire extinguishers, bungalow
steps, vestibule in church, handicap ramps, windows in the History house secure &
church doors, Kingsley window cracked by Nancy Frye seconded by Mary Cambridge.
All in Favor motion carried
b. Greenmead Supervisor: Emily Tchorz
i: Maintenance Update: Lean-to is complete. Bongero doing regrading near meeting
house and Lean-to. Brooks here Monday scraping of Blue House & repainting. Two
Ramps here being quoted for repair. Fixing Bungalow window. Quotes for ramp & roof
at Hinbern have been requested. Finish up screen doors (1 Geer, 1 Carriage House)
Possibly 2 more.
Bonjero to look at:
Door at Hill House
Chimney at Hill House
Cornerstone Finished
Wall at Hill in sunroom repaired
Ceiling in History House bathroom repaired
ii: Rental Income:
1. Church: $2,540.00
2. Meeting House: $2,720.00
iii: Nankin Mills Schoolhouse update: spoke to Tony end of this week they will be
coming to grade dirt, fill in holes, put fence back up. Getting area cleaned up. Seed
around the school, Water & Sewer lines hooked up. Get Electrical hooked up so sump
pump gets going. Last Payment of $25,600 for Phase 2 will be paid after work
complete.
iv. Greenhouse bids due May 22nd. Then will move to council.
v. Signs for building need to be reviewed by everyone. Purchase Order in for signs.
vi. Budget Status of the Trust Fund: $ $125,600 with School house payment will leave
$100,000 in fund
vii. Carpet bids for Church so far lowest bid is $3,000
IV. Review of Events & Planning for Future Events:
a. School Tours: we have had 2 out from Grant Elementary 4 helpers per day
We are expecting four more groups out before school ends
b. Previously Enjoyed Jewelry Sale April 28th 10-3
Mary did a great job.19 people helped us throughout set up, sale and tear down. This
sale originally started to raise money for school, think we should use funds for where we
need most. Some funds from this year were going to swing for Linda Wiacek.
c. Coffee Klatch May 5th at Hill House had 36 people attend was very fun
afternoon. We gave a tour of upstairs and had a video running from Livonia back in the
50’s.
V. Additional Business & Action Items:
a. Volunteer Kickoff date: May 22nd Blue House from 5:30-7 Presentation at 6
b. Plant Sharing Saturday May 19th
c. Gardener’s Informational Meeting: May 21st
d. LHS Speaker Joel Stone Monday May 21st, no banquet this year, picnic will be
held August 20th @ 2 p.m.
05/02 A motion to pay dues for LHS for Historical Commission was made by Barbara
Mansfield and seconded by Sandi Pritchard. All in Favor motion carried.
e. Flea Market June 3rd. Food Booth double the count on Hot Dogs from last year.
f. Detroit Armenian Celebration is June 9th starting @ 2 p.m.
g. Motor City Irish Fest June 15,16, & 17 we are the sole source for water will have
3 booths

h. Livonia Garden Walk June 23, 5 homes
i. First Tour Sunday is June 10th
j. Corn Roast Sept 16th @ Stymielski Park – Nancy, Patty & Mike will participate
k. Town Peddler Vendor Event July 14th- Deanna & Patty will participate
l. Electronic Sign:
05/03 A Motion to table this idea until funds become available to move forward by
Barbara Mansfield and seconded by Mary Cambridge All in favor motion carried.
m. We received a donation of Flowers from Marvaso Greenhouse
n. Talking to Jan and grounds crew on placement for swing.
o. Cleaning of 3 building are done. Inside windows are done and the will be starting
on outside windows Monday.
The next official, Non-Voting meeting will be Wednesday June 20, 2018.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned with motion from Sandi Pritchard and
seconded by Mike Marihugh @ 8:09 p.m.
