Brian Leigh. ABSENT: Rebekah Farabaugh, City of Livonia Engineer Todd Zilincik VISITORS: None Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the February 14, 2019, meeting were reviewed. A motion to approve minutes as written was made by Commissioner Katers and with support from Commissioner Wood, it was unanimously voted upon that: 19-284 RESOLVED, the minutes of the February 14, 2019, meeting are approved as written. Agenda Item 2: Chairpersons Comments/Updates from the Police Department The State of the City address was bittersweet as it was the last for Mayor Dennis Wright. It was well attended. Chairperson Policelli was approached by the Mayor regarding the traffic signal at 5 Mile Road and Levan as possibly needing to be upgraded. Chairman Policelli relayed to the Mayor that the traffic crashes at that intersection are minimal. Further, the last few years of freeway construction may have contributed to more instances of crashes than under normal traffic conditions. The Council has received the Commission's report on February's agenda item regarding the forthcoming Crosswinds Court development and the traffic concerns for that area. It will be presented at the next council meeting. In the last month a resident along Middle Belt Road requested the help of the Commission to obtain dedicated handicapped parking and related signage. The resident resides in a condominium complex, which located the parking area on the Middle Belt right of way. It is the responsibility of the Condominium Association to provide handicap parking space and signage. City Engineer Todd Zilincik reached out to the resident and was able to guide them in the correct direction to receive assistance. In Todd's absence, Chairman Policelli noted that Todd is being informed of the progress of the Section 4 sign changes that were approved during 2018 Commission meetings. Sgt. Leigh notes that the Vietnam Moving Wall will be coming to Livonia August 8t" through August 12th. There will be notable fanfare upon its arrival and the logistics are in the works. He also noted that 1000 or more motorcycles want to escort the display. Motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner St. John and supported by Commissioner Katers at 8:17 p.m. NEXT MEETING: April 11, 2019, in the 3rd floor Conference Room at Livonia City Hall Respectfully submitted, Jim Keller Recording Secretary
