Calhoun makes a motion to approve minutes from August 4, 2021. K. Waterbury seconds. All approve. Current Issues Alternative roofing materials for Bungalow at Greenmead 9.2 K. Victor-Burke makes a motion to investigate historically accurate, yet lower cost alternatives for the bungalow roof, such as historic three tab asphalt shingles. This product was invented in Michigan in 1903, and by 1930 was used nationally. It is therefore historically accurate for the time period of the bungalow. We would like to have a quote comparison between this material and cedar shake before making this important decision. Even though this building has been moved, its local historic listing status actually requires greater adherence to the Secretary of Interior standards for rehabilitation. K. Waterbury seconds the motion. All in favor. Installation of fence at Union/Briggs Cemetery in similar style to other cemeteries Need more information before voting and making a decision. Addition of additional utilities connections in the Farm Complex 9.3 B. Calhoun makes a motion to approve additional plumbing and electrical behind the Simmons Hill barn yard. Exact placement as per electrical and plumbing requirements to be done in consultation with one or more Historic Preservation Commissioners, in accordance with best practices. K. Glynn seconds the motion. All approve. New/Old Business Certificate of Approvals HPC will develop a draft of approvals that is user friendly for the city and others to utilize. Headstone Repair Working on Clarenceville Cemetery. Will continue to work on headstones until we get close to $1000 left. Corn Roast- Sept. 19 Betsy and Kristin will be attending. Historic District Survey Waiting until CLG status comes through. No new information at this time. Certified Local Government update Approval letter from the Mayor signed. K. Johnson Bartshe is out of town and K. Waterbury will email Alan Higgins of SHPO to see if he wants a hard copy of the letter or scanned copy, and send accordingly. Greenmead Master Plan Discussed the need for input in the future. Fundraisers Civil War Tea, Sept. 25 36 people have registered. Centerpieces and table cloths. Maureen is working on the china for the event. Black pants/skirts and white shirt for those volunteering. Birkerts Presentation, Oct. 13 Pay speakers $25; B. Calhoun will look into paying them gift cards or cash. Updates No updates given. Walk On Items HPC will draft a reply to Ted Davis regarding the Bungalow.
