HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2022-01-13 MINUTES OF THE 784th REGULAR MEETING LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION thth The 784 Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the 5 Floor Gallery of City Hall on Thursday, January 13, 2022; it was called to order by Chairperson Jim Policelli at 7:30 p.m. PRESENT: Jim Policelli, Yara Racine, City Engineer Todd Zilincik, and Sgt. Scott Sczepanski of the LPD Traffic Bureau ABSENT: Jim Keller VISITORS: None Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the meeting held on December 9th, 2021 were reviewed No corrections were brought forth. Therefore, a motion was made by Chairman Policelli, supported by Commissioner Racine, to approve the November minutes as written. It was voted upon unanimously that, 20-339 RESOLVED, the minutes from the meeting held on December 9th, 2021 were approved as written Agenda Item 2: Parking Situation near Bentley Field (brought forth by resident Whitney Bayer) There is no update at this time. Todd Zilincik recommends that an email be sent noting that the Commissions typical process for placing signs includes canvassing the neighborhood and getting signatures from all the residents in favor of placing signage; otherwise a request can be made that LJAL send an email upon athletic registration that parking may be an issue. The Commission has taken no further action at this time Email and Other Communications Dwayne Roszkowsk resides on Berwick Street and is concerned with the “No Left Turn” sign installed at the exit of Frost Middle School (Section 21) for turning northbound on Stark Road. The sign is on private school property and therefore the resident should contact Frost Middle School to address their concerns, as it is not within jurisdiction of the Traffic Commission. No No further action will be taken at this time. Todd Zilinik gave an update on city renewal millage coming up this year, and major upcoming road projects for the year. Traffic signals on Merriman and Joy will possibly begin this fall.
