HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-02-07 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD February 7, 2022 The Regular Meeting of the Water and Sewer Board of the City of Livonia, Michigan, held on Monday, February 7, 2022 was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Brett Gierak. Roll was called with the following present: Members Present: Brett Gierak Rich Skaggs Valerie Jackson Greg Jones Candy Little Others Present: Shaden Dababneh, 17526 Doris Lisa Castaneda, 14908 Richfield Jennifer Tosto, 10015 Camden Tom Wilson, Water Supervisor Jen Schilk, Accountant II Tracy Albus, Account Clerk I Jill Russell, Secretary III 1. Approval of Minutes dated January 3, 2022 Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Candy Little #WS 6160 02/22 RESOLVED, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held January 3, 2022 are hereby approved. AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jones, Jackson, Little 2. Letter dated October 5, 2020 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Jennifer Tosto, 10015 Camden Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6161 02/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Tosto the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective February 7, 2022 The Board voted to remove the reinstated penalty in the amount of $1,317.99 as the account has been paid in full. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD February 7, 2022 3. Letter dated January 10, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Shaden Dababneh, 17526 Doris Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Rich Skaggs #WS 6162 02/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Dababneh the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective February 7, 2022 a Six (6) month “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the six-month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. The Board does also hereby grant the removal of the penalty dated January 13, 2022 in the amount of $97.92. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: None The Chairman declared the motion carried. 4. Letter dated January 21, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Lisa Castaneda, 14908 Richfield Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Candy Little #WS 6163 02/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Castaneda the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective February 7, 2022 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2022 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. Letter dated November 18, 2021 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Justin Ayoub, 11895 Adams Ct. Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6164 02/22 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does table this matter to the March 7, 2022 meeting at which time the resident is able to appear. All penalties will be held until that time A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 6. Letter dated November 29, 2021 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Valary Ewings, 19554 Farmington Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6165 02/22 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does table this matter to the March 7, 2022 meeting at which time the resident is able to appear. All penalties will be held until that time A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. Request to approve the following items to Receive & File a. #6166 02/22 - Letter dated January 5, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Michael Micallef, 19651 Milburn b. #6167 02/22 - Letter dated January 10, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Lisa Schnorberger, 30294 Seven Mile c. #6168 02/22 - Letter dated January 26, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Suzanne Hogan, 9905 Blackburn A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. The next meeting of the Water and Sewer Board is scheduled for Monday, March 7, 2022 at 5:00pm. Upon a motion by Rich Skaggs, seconded by Candy Little, the meeting was adjourned at 6:00pm.
