HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-03-07 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD March 7, 2022 The Regular Meeting of the Water and Sewer Board of the City of Livonia, Michigan, held on Monday, March 7, 2022 was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Brett Gierak. Approval of Minutes dated February 7, 2022 Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6169 03/22 RESOLVED, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held February 7, 2022 are hereby approved. AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jones, Jackson, Little 2. Letter dated February 23, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Elodia Price, 18270 Foch Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6170 03/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Price the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective March 7, 2022 a Fourteen (14) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD March 7, 2022 Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2022 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 3. Letter dated March 2, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Brett Jentz, 39292 Grennada Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Candy Little #WS 6171 03/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Jentz the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective March 7, 2022 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. At the request of the petitioner, the account at 39292 Grennada will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the twelve (12) month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2022 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. Letter dated February 11, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Jamalle Reynolds, 9910 Woodring Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Rich Skaggs #WS 6172 03/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Reynolds the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective March 7, 2022 a Six (6) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. The Board does also hereby grant the removal of the penalty dated February 14, 2022 in the amount of $75.42. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 5. Letter dated February 14, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Douglas Kaye, 28684 Westfield Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Candy Little #WS 6173 03/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Kaye the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective March 7, 2022 a Five (5) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. At the request of the petitioner, the account at 28684 Westfield will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD March 7, 2022 Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2022 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. The Board does also hereby grant the removal of the penalty dated February 14, 2022 in the amount of $47.66. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 6. Letter dated February 22, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Justin Ayoub, 11895 Adams Ct. Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6174 03/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Ayoub the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective March 7, 2022 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. RECEIVE & FILE: a. #WS 6175 03/22 Letter dated February 3, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Norman Estigoy, 18969 Myron – three months (thru May 10, 2022) b. #WS 6176 03/22 Letter dated February 10, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Brian Sullivan, 9012 Floral – six months (thru September 10, 2022) The Board does also hereby grant the removal of the penalty dated February 14, 2022 in the amount of $40.00. c. #WS 6177 03/22 Letter dated February 11, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - John Riordan, 34934 Parkdale – three months (June 10, 2022) Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Greg Jones A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. The next meeting of the Water and Sewer Board is scheduled for Monday, April 4, 2022 at 5:00pm. Upon a motion by Rich Skaggs, seconded by, Greg Jones, the meeting was adjourned at 6:07pm.
