HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-07-11 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD July 11, 2022 The Regular Meeting of the Water and Sewer Board of the City of Livonia, Michigan, held on Monday, July 11, 2022 was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Brett Gierak. Approval of Minutes dated June 6, 2022 Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6230 07/22 RESOLVED, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held June 6, 2022 are tabled to the September 12, 2022 meeting pending clarification of #9. AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jones, Jackson, Little 2. Letter dated May 26, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Diane Terreault, 17647 Francavilla Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6231 07/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Terreault the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective July 11, 2022 a Ten (10) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Page 1 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD July 11, 2022 At the request of the petitioner, the account at 17647 Francavilla will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the Ten (10) month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2022 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: None The Chairman declared the motion carried. 3. Letter dated May 20, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Miriam Rosen, 27435 Pickford Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6232 07/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Rosen the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective July 11, 2022 a Twenty-Four (24) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated May 6, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - John Rodopoulos, 29705 Buckingham Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Rich Skaggs #WS 6233 07/22 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does table this matter to the September 12, 2022 meeting at which time the resident is able to appear. All penalties will be held until that time A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: None The Chairman declared the motion carried. 5. Letter dated June 13, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Lisa Sandau, 16080 Hubbard Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Candy Little #WS 6234 07/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Sandau the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective July 11, 2022 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2022 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. The Board does also hereby grant the removal of the penalty dated June 15, 2022 in the amount of $330.58. Letter dated June 9, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Clarence Leung, 9324 California Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6235 07/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Leung the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective July 11, 2022 a Twenty-Four (24) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated June 28, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Samy Husseini, 34420 Fargo Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Candy Little #WS 6238 07/22 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective July 11, 2022 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated June 9, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Donald Jarnevic, 35800 Lyndon Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Candy Little #WS 6240 07/22 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective July 11, 2022 a Six (6) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. Letter dated June 22, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Joe Bytner, 14942 Arden Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6241 07/22 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the July 11, 2022 meeting. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: None The Chairman declared the motion carried. 13. Letter dated June 16, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Juanita Fournier, 39001 Howell Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6242 07/22 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the July 11, 2022 meeting. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: None The Chairman declared the motion carried. 14.
