HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-10-03 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD October 3, 2022 The Regular Meeting of the Water and Sewer Board of the City of Livonia, Michigan, held on Monday, October 3, 2022 was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Brett Gierak. Approval of Minutes dated September 12, 2022 Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Candy Little #WS 6275 10/22 10/22 RESOLVED, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held September 12, 2022 are hereby approved. AYES: Gierak, Jones, Jackson, Little 2. Letter dated September 28, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Bob Gabrish, 18845 Parklane Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Candy Little #WS 6276 10/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Gabrish the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective October 3, 2022 a Seventeen (17) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Page 1 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD October 3, 2022 At the request of the petitioner, the account at 18845 Parklane will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the Seventeen (17) month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2022, 2023 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. The Board does also hereby grant the removal of the penalty dated July 14, 2022 in the amount of $152.06. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 3. Letter dated September 30, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Natasha Meekins, 37026 Clarita Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6277 10/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Meekins the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective October 3, 2022 a Twenty-Four (24) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. Letter dated September 27, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Felice Shannon, 16471 Parklane Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6278 10/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Shannon the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective October 3, 2022 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2022 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. The Board does also hereby grant the removal of the penalty dated September 14, 2022 in the amount of $200.53. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 5. Letter dated September 28, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Brandon Rennie, 17512 Dolores Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Candy Little #WS 6279 10/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Rennie it was determined that the damage to meter was caused by resident/plumber negligence and was therefore billable to the resident as per City Ordinance. Letter dated September 28, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Angela Woodruff, 17505 Hizmet Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6280 10/22 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Woodruff the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective October 3, 2022 a Twenty-Four (24) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated September 27, 2022 from Supervisor of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Nicole Cardella, 20339 Parkville Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6282 10/22 that the Water and Sewer Board does table this matter to the November 8. 2-22 meeting at which time the resident is able to appear. All penalties will be held until that time AYES: Gierak, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 9.
