HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2022-12-14 th MINUTES OF THE 795 REGULAR MEETING LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION thth The 795 Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the 5 Floor Gallery of City Hall on Thursday, December 14, 2022; it was called to order by Chairperson Jim Policelli at 7:32 p.m. PRESENT: Jim Policelli, , Rebekah Farabaugh, John Katers, James Keller, Gordon St. John, Yara Racine, Tom Wrenbeck, and Sgt. Scott Sczepanski of the LPD Traffic Bureau ABSENT: City Engineer Todd Zilincik VISITORS: None Agenda Item 1: The minutes from the November 10, 2022 meeting were reviewed No corrections were brought forth. Therefore, a motion was made by Commissioner Katers, supported by Commissioner Farabaugh, to approve the November 10, 2022 minutes as written. It was vote upon unanimously that, 20-357 RESOLVED, the minutes from the November, 2022 meeting were approved as written Agenda Item 2: Request for “No Truck” sign at Five Mile and Eckles Roads A resident called the Engineering Department to request a “No Truck” signed be placed at Eckles Road, south of Five Mile due to the truck traffic that is looking for a short cut to I-96 through the residential neighborhood. The details of the issue are sketchy and due to the call coming in the morning prior to the Commission meeting it was decided that further discussion will take place at the January 12, 2023 meeting. Email and Other Communications It was noted that in the coming month there is a need to explore the necessity of a “No Turn on Red” sign at Stark Road northbound at Plymouth Road Sgt. Sczepanski noted that his replacement of the Traffic Bureau will be Sgt. Paul Walters. The Commission gave Sgt. Sczepanski well wishes to commemorate his retired from the Livonia Police Department.
