ADDRESS--PLYMOUTH, MICHIGAN RURAL ROUTE NO. 3 MINUTES OF MEETING OF LIVONIA TOWNSHIP PLANNING BOARD HELD AT LIVONIA TOWNSHIP HALL, WAYNE COUNTY, MICH. JUNE 28TH 1945. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8.45 PM BY CHAIRMAN JOHNSTON WITH ALL MEMBERS PRESENT AND ATTORNEY J. B. AMBROSE. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING WERE'READ AND APPROVED. THERE APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD MR. LAWRENCE FISHER, RESIDING AT 9012 MIDDLE BELT ROAD ON COMPLAINT OF RESIDENTS OF LIVONIA TOWNSHIP FOR KEEPING HORSES ON HIS PROPERTY. MR. FIFHER STATED THE WORK OF HIS HORSES, PLOWING, DIGGING BASEMENTS ETC. WAS HIS ONLY MEANS OF A LIVELYHOOD. ON MOTION BY MR. GEORGE BENTLEY, SECONDED BY MR. G. L. ISBELL IT WAS DECIDED TO POSTPONE THIS CASE UNTIL THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING BOARD ON THE LAST THURSDAY IN JULY. MOTION CARRIED. MR. L. C. BLOOD, RESIDING AT 15630 MIDDLE BELT APPEARED IN CONNECTION WITH TWENTY ACRES HE OWNS JUST WEST OF ALDEN PARK VILLAGE ON PLYMOUTH ROAD WHICH MR. BLOOD DESIRES TO BE ZONED AS FARM LAND. THIS BOARD NOT HAVING THE PROPOSED NEW ZONING MAP AT THIS MEETING (NT BEING IN THE HANDS OF ENGINEER JOHNSON) MR. BLOOD WAS REQUESTED TO COME TO THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING ON THE LAST THURSDAY IN JULY. MR. WM, F. LEAHR RESIDING AT 30845 EIGHT MILE ROAD MADE COMPLAINT OF UNSIGHTLY USE MADE OF PROPERTY "NEAR KIRBY'S BARN". THIS WAS REFERRED TO MR. RAY OWENS FOR INVESTIGATION. THERE APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD A GATHERING OF THIRTY OR MORE RESIDENTS OF LIVONIA TOWNSHIP IN CONNECTIONS WITH RAISING CHICKENS. THE PLANNING BOARD DECIDED TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATION TO THE TOWNSHIP BOARD: "IN VIEW OF POPULAR DEMAND IN THE PRESENT PERIOD OF FOOD RATIONING IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THIS BOARD TO THE TOWNSHIP BOARD THAT RESTRICTIONS ON RAISING CHICKENS BE TEMPORARILY WAIVED, THAT IS FOR THE PERIOD OF FOOD RATIONING AND FOR SIX MONTHS THEREAFTER, AND THAT PERMITS FOR CHICKEN HOUSES BE ISSUED PROVIDED ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE BUILDING CODE AS TO LOT LINE DISTANCES, RAT WALLS AND ALL OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE NUILDING CODE ARE COMPLIED WITH". THIS WAS PUT INTO A MOTION BY MR. GEORGE BENTLEY, SECONDED BY MR. WM. FENSKE AND WAS UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED. THE SECRETARY WAS INSTRUCTED TO WRITE A LETTER TO MIS THE TOWNSHIP BOARD CONVEYING THE ABOVE RE6OMMENDATION. THIS WAS WRITTEN, PER CARBON COPY ATTACHED TO THESE MINUTES. AFTER ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD HAD LEFT A GENERAL DISCUSSION OF THE DATES FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS ON PROPOSED NEW ORDINANCES WAS HELD AND AT 11.15 PM MOTION BY ISBELL TO ADJOURN WAS MADE AND SECONDED BY MR. FENSKE. NEXT MUTING WAS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, JULY I2TH. MOTION CARRIED. SECRtT
