HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLANNING MINUTES 1945-09-27Sep. 27, 1945 MINUTES of meeting of the Livonia. Township Planning Board held at the Livonia Township Hall Sep. 27, 1945. Present: Chairman Johnston, Mr. G. N. Bentley, Mr. Wm. Fenske and Secretary George L. Isbell. Engineer Mir. Johnson, Attorney J. B. Ambrose, Mr. E. H. McNeice and Chief of Police Mr. Ray Owens. Meeting was called to order at eight ten (8.10) PM. Mr. J. E. Varney appeared on instructions from Mr. Ray Owens, Chief of Police, on a complaint by residents of Livonia Township for keeping chickens in a residential building (but not presently used as a residence) and under unsanitary conditions. Mr. Varney agreed to clean up the premesis immediately and to get rid of the chickens within thirty days. On motion by Mr, G. NT Bentley, seconded by George L. Isbell this was acceptable to this board. Motion carried . Next appeared a Mr. Verge, 28876 Olsen and Mr. S. Ventura of 29060 Olsen to complain about keeping poultry in imroper buildings or "shacks". On Motion bjr Mr. Fenske, seconded by Mr. Bentley Chief of Police, Mr. Regy Owens was instructed to investigate and to prepare necessary papers to institute coury proceedings. Motion carried . Mr. W. C. Gust appeared regarding a store building proposed to be erected at 8861 Middle Belt. near Joy Road. Said site now zoned on proposed new zoning map as 0-1. It was moved by G. N. Bentley, seconded by G. L. Isbell that this board recommend to the board of appeals that necessary building permit be issued. Motion carried. Mrs. Nelson, 20135 Rensellar, Livonia Township and Mrs. Signor, same address, appeared regarding opening a beauty parlor at the above described address. This address is zoned on proposed new zoning map as R-2-0. It was deemed advisable, because of proximity to business district on Grand River Ave. to increase the adjoining 6-2 area to include lots 46 of aceesors plat Argonne subdivision to include lot 25 of Argonne annex subdivision. This was done on motion by G. N. Bentley seconded by G. L. Isbell. Motion carried. Mr. W. E. Boos, 15605 Reddon, appeared regarding changing zoning on proposed new may covering his property to permit raising poultry. We suggested he get a petetion signed by residents of Greenland, Pope and Deering streets near his property. No motion was made. This concluded interviewing the public who were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. The matter of subdividers selling land by meets and bounds withiut re;rd to logical extension of existing streets and natural lines was discussed. Attorney Ambrose and Township Supervisor, Jess Zeigler stated they would attend a meeting with the Wayne Vounty Road Commission and report back to t his board. A petetion dated Sep . 24th, thirty three signators, requesting that property within the boundaries of West Chicago Blv. on the north, Joy Road on the south, Inkster Road on the east and Caldwell Ave. on the west be changed to "small farms district". was read. On motion by G. N. Bentley, seconded by Wm. Fenske, it was moved t(T change this area to R. U. F. S on proposed new zoning map and to extend the R. U. F. district west to include all property in this area east of Floral St. north to wWest Chicago Blvd. Motion made by Wm. Fenske, seconded by G. L. Isbell. Motion carried Secretary
