HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLANNING MINUTES 1946-03-28Maroh 28, 1946 Minutes of Meetin of the Livos4s Township Planning Board, held at the Livonia Township Hall, 53110 Five Mile Road, Livonia Township Wayne County, Mich, March 28th 1946 and being the regular monthly meeting of this Board. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Carson Johnston at 8.05 PM with all board membera and Attorney John B. Ambrose present. First appeared John B. Martin, 2005 Renseller with a petetion signed by thirty three persons waiving any objection to Mr. Martin keeping horses on his property (in R U F C district) . A cheok was made to confirm that the signers of this petetion were a majority of Ivlr. Martins neighbors. It developed that Tarr. Martin, prior to his entry into military service had kept horses on these premesis and that he makes livelihood by plowing and other work with horses. On motion by Mr. G. N. Bentley, seconded by Mr. Wm. Fenske, it was moved that this board reoonuaend to the Board of Appeals that relief be granted. ];lotion carried. The minutes of the meeting by this Board held on Maroh 14th and said meeting being a Public Hearing, were read, corrected in ink and then approved.on a motion made by Mr. Wm. Fenske and seconded by Mr. G. N. Bentley. Motion carried. On a motion by Ivir. Wm. Fenske, seoonded by Mr. George N. Bentley, the Secretary of this Board was instructed to notify the Livonia Township Board that this Board recommends to the Township Board for adoption all petetions heard at the Public Hearing of Maroh 14th with the exception of the petetion filed by the Coventry Gardens Restrictions Committee. Motion carried. On e motion by Mr. Bentley, seconded by Mr. Fenske, the Secretary of this Board was instructed to notify the Townahip Board that the nonconforming use map, as required by State of Michigan zoning; law, has not been made and also that the zoning map is not up to date and to request the Township Board to instruct the Building Inspector imgrimplreta to make a complete, comprehensive and exact survey of all nonconforming buildings and uses in the township. Notion carried. The matter of the Coventry Gardens request for a change of Coventry Gardens from a "W" to an "A"" district was discussed at length and a motion was made by Kr. Fenske, seconded by Mr. Bentley that the Secretary was instructed to write Petetioners that a survey of Coventry Gardens made from the Livonia Township Field Assessment book shows: sixteen A oleos residences thirty six B class residences ten C class residences these residences based on the minimum floor area required wider present regulations. That this Board is of the opinion any change would work a hardship on present property owners and that we are of the opinion A restrictions would not be sustained if court proceedings were instituted. Motion carried. A motion was made by Mr. Fenake, seconded by Mr. Isbell that that the meeting be adjourned with the next scheduled meeting to be held at the Livonia Township Hall, on the last Thursday, in April 1946 at 8.00 P.
