Me eting Jan. 9th, 1947 LIVONIA TOWNSHIP ZONING COMMISSION Minutes of a special meeting of the Livonia Township Zoning Com- mission, held Thursday, Jan. 9th, 1947, in the Township Hall. Chairman Johnston called the meeting to order at 9 P.M. Members present:- Carson Johnston, Chairman, G. L. Isbell, and Attorney Ambrose, The minutes of the meeting of Dec. 19th, 1946 were read.by Secretary Isbell. A motion was made by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Isbell, that these minutes be adopted as read. Motion carried. The purpose of this meeting was for the discussion of the condemnation proceedings instituted by the Board of Education of the property fronting on Five Mile Road, east of Hubbard, which site is to be acquired for the new high. school. A letter from the School Board of November 12th, 1946, was read by Attorney Ambrose. He also read the letter of the Zoning Board to the School Board of December 20th, 1946. A discussion followed and the opinion of the members present seemed to be, that, while'the School Board. have agreed not to condemn Lots 51 and 52, which. 1s the site of Mason's Grocery, it is an injustice to the taxpayers' of the Township to deprive the Township of the revenue from the taxes of the.Five Mile Road frontage, which is the central highway in the township, and, as the population increases, would be one of the main business thoroughfares of the Td'iwnship. It was- now agreed that another letter should be sent to the School Board, and copy sent to the 'tLivonian'° for publication. This letter was dictated by Attorney Ambrose, and fluwarded to the School_ Board on Jan. 10th, 1947. There being no further business to come before the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Isbell, and seconded by Mr. Johnston. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 10 P.M. Approved: C. W. Johnston, Chairman G. L.Isbell, Secy.
