Dec. 11, 1947
Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Livonia Township
Zoning Commission, held in the Township Hall, Thursday,
Dec. llth, 1947.
Members present: Carson Johnston, Chairman, George
N. Bentley and Attorney John Ambrose.
This meeting is only for the purpose of discussing
a new Zoning District to be known as M District".
Present were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Flores, who intend
building a Tool Shop on Eight Mile Road and Purling
Brook, and who have presented a petition to the Board
to change the Zoning on Eight Mile from Middlebelt to
Merriman to this new "M" District.
A general discussion followed and it was suggested
that Attorney Ambrose draw up the "M District" for the
purpose of making a division between the C-2 and M-1
districts, applicable to the "M" District, Further,
that the height of buildings would be 20 feet instead
of 40 feet. This will be presented to the Township
Board for their approval.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
